Well there's J&M Motorsports right on Broad Street next to economy oil change. Over in East Hartford there's Bristol dyno as well. J&M charges $150 an hour for a dyno session and tune (count on a few hours) and Bristol dyno charges $60 an hour. However, they're a big import place so I doubt they'd be able to tune it for you, but maybe?
There's also XX tuning right near Bristol Dyno, they're also mainly an European tuner shop as well, but will dyno your car for right around $70 for a few pulls I believe.
Your closest tracks are Atco (NJ), Lebanon (NY) or NH. All roughly 2 hours away.
Where in Manchester are you exaclty? I ask because I used to live in that town and I think I've seen your car before.

near the bolton line greenwood drive right before the shady glen, you may have seen my car.. and if you seen it now.. you would know.. its got red front valance/rear bumper, some primer spots and rest is blue, last sunday i picked up a white iroc hood that i just put on it so its red, white, blue, silver, and grey primer spots
soon to be all primer, is it worth the money to do the dyno?

See Jon at Bristol Dyno... The only reason he seems like an import guy is he shares the space with Victor Research, which is huge into DSMs, so there are always imports in or around there. He does tune a lot of cars of all kinds, but I garentee you he would "know what to do" with a thirdgen. I go there because I like to mess around with just the timing and F/P and Jon lets me strap on the dyno and make some pulls and play with the tune.
Nicest guy you will meet in the dyno game!

Anyone check out Ulimited Motorsports in East Windsor?? I've been there and they have an in floor dyno and also seem to know what they're talking about we you talk tune. I'm thinking of buying an XFI system from them in the summer if I'm not happy with my own DIY Prom approach.

Hey 86Z, what have you heard about J&M that is so bad? I went there for my emissions test and they set up my rear for me and did some good work. I think Mike would like to know if you had a bad experience...
JM is garbage. Many CTFBA members have had negative issues with them, espically with tuning.
If you're looking for good tuning, go see Jon @ Bristol Dyno.
East Side is good, mainly for LSx cars IMO.
Jon knows his stuff really well, you can PM Andris (mod of the FI section) about what Jon does.
I had the pleasure of working with Jon on a professional level tuning cars for me, and he treats each car as if they were his own.

I am sure that no matter who you use, if they are a reputable shop then they will stand by their work. if the tuning is not right then they should fix it. if someone has an issue with them then you should give them a chance to fix their probs. from the sounds of, it sounds like this guy at j&m does not even know that he has a bad rep. if people are going back to get their stuff fixed then he would know about his quality. if people are not going back then thats telling him that everything is good. remember no news is good news.

Re: dyno in ct?
Another recommendation for Jon @ Bristol Dyno. His rates are great for CTFBA club members (just sign up on the CTFBA website), and he's usually able schedule something on a weeknight when it's not as busy as a weekend. If you plan on tuning, playing with timing/fuel pressure, etc, you can get a lot accomplished in an hour or two, for less than many places charge just for a 3 pull baseline. He's a road racer too, so that's good.
Here's the Z28tt there last month:

I know some people will bring up that some cars have blown up on his dyno... I hate to tell people, but some cars that go there to get tuned have a half assed setup, and it happens. Infact, it's happened on everyones dyno at some point... So i wouldn't shy away from J&M, just know there's a backlog of customers there and that dyno time is not cheap.

That right, this zombie thread is back from the dead! It appears as if Bristol Dyno is out of business, and I want to strap my jalopy on a dyno, and quantify my blistering 120 HP! I live in Middletown, CT. Where should I go?
