im up here at school in nh with my bird. im at class this morning and campus safety pulls me out to inform me somebody vandalized my car. the windshield was smashed, both headlights completely destroyed along with the mounting brackets and it was keyed up pretty bad too. they carved fu on the quarterpanel and "racist" on my hood. all this probly b/c of the dixie flag i have on my dash.

 

i hate tool bags who vandalize things, especially cars, there is no reason for that kind of behavior.
does the school have cameras in the lot? **** anybody off lately?

 

no. but its parked near the gym where the basketball team practices. i dont want to point any fingers b/c i have no leads.

 

damn man thats really sucks. i was gonna get a dixie plate and stick in my dash in Az with all the gangster mexicans. The same thing kinda happend with me but not bad and not at school. I was sleeping one night then woke up on a saturday morning and my system was gone wires everywhere and i knew who it was but didnt want to goto jail for doing something stupid back. It was my mexican neighbors a bunch of hoods . They always looked inside my car. Then that happened then a couple days later there shitty altima magically had a system i was like wow look at this SH17. But im sorry to hear that nick86bird.

what school was this at? UNH students usually have a lot more class than that. I know I saw a lot of crap happen when i was at NHCTC manchester for the welding program.

Well, let me see. Where should I start... Oh I know.

I feel your pain man. I had a 94 Wrangler with a 4 inch lift, 33 inch tires etc, etc. I looked like a rebel Jeep. It featured a license plate on the front (PA,) that was a Battle flag that said Dern Tooten I'm a Rebel, a sticker on the back that said Fear This in Battle Flag lettering, and a sticker that said Pride Not Prejudice. I walked out of work one night to find "hater" etched in my driver's door. Needless to day, I was pissed, but it buffed out.

In situations like yours, police won't even bother looking for the person that did it because there is no place to start unless there was a security camera focused on, or in the general vicinity of your car. It also sucks to see any car messed up that badly just because of a flag.


It's a sad thing because we supposedly have freedom of speech, and expression, but the second ya put a flag of your heritige, (Confederate battle flag, Jamacian, or otherwise,) you become a target for police, and fellow citizens. It's become such a hassle here in South Central PA, that I replaced my Battle Flag on my newest vehicle with a John Deere license plate. I'm very pround of my heritige, but you become the target of ridicule because of it. The second someone sees the flag, they automatically assume you belong to the KKK, which is almost never the case. It pisses me off to no end.

Now, with all that being said, if what I've said offends anyone, hop back in your Prius and move along. I don't care. I'm friendly, and easy to get along with, but ya bang my flag and heritige, I become pissed, quickly. (I know arguing, and crap on the internet makes me look like and idiot, but I'm just putting my opinion out there, not usually this vocalized.)

In any case, I hope you get her fixed as good as new, and put a Confederate Battle flag on the front of the car, and a sticker in the rear window man. Good luck.

I have a Puerto Rican flag hanging in my car and I get pulled over regularly. A month or so ago I got pulled over by a racist cop who claimed my license plate light was out. Once pulled over he proceeded to ask me a host of questions. "Was I transporting illegals immigrants or drugs?". Thats just the tip of it. 'Id rather not elaborate anymore on what he said or did. Later on when I looked at the license plate the light was on. Im convinced he pulled me over because of the flag and his actions all indicated the same. He was on the opposite side of the road heading towards me and did a squeling tire uturn and chased me down to pull me over. Harrased me and let me on my way. Racism in any case no matter who it comes from and who its directed towards is wrong. Everyone should be able to proudly display their herritage if they choose to do so. I will continue to leavemy flag up and have never taken it down. Im sorry to hear that happen to your car. I would have flipped out. Your a better guy than I am. If I even suspected someone I would have done something stupid. My car, next to my girl, is my baby and you dont mess with her.

If I have a nice tan, people start talking to me in Spanish. (customer often did that when I worked for Pepboys). No one ever asks if I am Jamaican or Italian, people assume that I am Hispanic, Bosnian or Cape Verdean.

 

A lot of racially motivated automobile vandalism occurs because people have nothing better to do with their lives. I personally couldn't care less what any of you have hanging in your cars / trucks or painted on the exterior etc. I don't care if you admit to hating people who are white black pink purple green red yellow or orange. Damaging peoples personal property is indicative of a person who has no understanding of the value of money, and no respect for anybody in general.

Even if you found the person responsible for this crime, chances are you aren't going to do yourself any good confronting them because they are obviously going to be defensive since they are in the wrong.

Cut your losses, and remove what ever piece of history is in or on your car that makes people think you don't like them. You are in college for pete sake, that's hard enough to deal with, without making enemies. You now know for a fact that having any southern pride element in clear view of the general public is going to make you subject to criticism or vandalism.

It sucks about what happened, but since you already know why it happened - remedy that situation so it doesn't happen again.

PS I never said I hated anyone for their skin color it was the other way around. I have encountered dumba$$ white, Spanish, and black people. Who think gangster rap is what black music is.
