Re: Gianna's U-Pull-It (Philly) thoughts?

I didn't find anything thay special about it. Last time I was there ( around 2004) it was a mess and vitually impossible to walk through(mud). They also didnt have anything good, especially third gen wise. I would suggest Shorty's U pull it in conshohoken. Lot of third gen's, mostly 6 banger cars but once in a while an Iroc or Z28. I was able to pull a lot of odd ball stuff to complete my car.

I wonder if i'm thinking of the same place. I'm thinking of the one next to Oasis across from the Auto mall. It's either Enterprise Ave or Passyunk Ave a little further down the road.

Re: Gianna's U-Pull-It (Philly) thoughts?

Okay so I went to Shorty's U-Pull-It in Conshohoken/King of Prussia today. There's actually a decent amount of F-Bodies there. There were 6 or 7, only 3 third gens. Two Camaros and one good condition Firebird.

The Camaros are black and blue and beat to hell. Nothing of value left on them, I managed to grab a blue spoiler off of the one. The Black has Z-28 badging and hood but looks to be the 2.8L V6 with the 85MPH speedo. I wanted that hood so bad, but I couldn't get the damn thing off! How the hell do you do it? lol.

No good dash or console pads in either Camaro.

The Firebird is a white third gen, all wheels are gone, has T-Tops, and in pretty good condition inside. V6 too, looks completely together under the hood.

The rest are 4th gens....some nice seats in a couple if you wanted to do a swap, there's a green Camaro Z with decent black leather ish seats.

So anyway, that's that. I'm gonna check out Shorty's in South Philly or Williamstown next. I need a hood bad!

Re: Gianna's U-Pull-It (Philly) thoughts?

Giannas on essington ave hasnt had anything good for awhile.I been going there once a month for the last 6 or so years.Got alot of good parts down there in the past but nothing recently. Its gotten alot better as now they have concrete slabs that the cars sit on as opposed to the mudpit it was in the past. There are still muddy sections but way better than before.I was in nj yesterday and hit a few yards including shortys in williamstown.Been going there long before shorty bought it when it was called williamston u pull it/coach auto parts. They have a bunch of fbodys 3rd and 4th gen although most are picked over. The only new addition was an 86 or 87 T/A.It was a 305 Tuned port car. Most of the TPI was still intact. It had a performance sound setup and I got the rear subwoofers, dash mounted amp and gain switch along with some other stuff. It has a GH3 (2.77)disc brake posi rear thats still in the car if anyone is interested.I was in conshohocken about 3 weeks ago and they didnt have any 3rd gens.Guess Ill be heading up there to see what I can scavage

Yeah I was thinking of going to the Williamstown location. Do they have any black/white Z-28/IROC hoods available, if you know offhand? And by the where, where are you in Philly? NE here Oxford Circle.

I'm probably going to follow in your foot steps. I need a few small things...

in response to your offer for the dash pad, I only made not of that here because I know a lot of people look for them. Mine however is in very good cond., no cracks or anything. Thank you, though! Do you have anything else? Rims, hood?

Re: Gianna's U-Pull-It (Philly) thoughts?

Okay most importantly I need one rim, to match the 16" stock RS rims, I have one that has a major dent in it from a tire pop. OR, I'd like to buy a set of IROC/Z-28 rims, the ones that bend in, you know?

Next on the list is a new hood. I'm looking for either stock RS in black, or IROC/Z-28 with louvers/blisters in white or black. Maybe even blue.

Next is the mechanism that connects the console pad to the console, so it swings. My pad is disonnected from the rest, and the latch it connects to it mangled.

Next is a left side speaker cover in gray. Mine's got a few holes.

Lastly, a snorkel air intake (From the V8's) with the dual intake air box.

That's pretty much the needs, the wants are another story. Let me know if you have anything along these lines and if I have the spare cash I'll pay for it and pick it up.

I tried to go in the fenced in area but they said it wasn't theirs, they said it was the savage parts place next door. Any way I got a seat belt from the black beat up camaro.

Re: Gianna's U-Pull-It (Philly) thoughts?

First off, sorry for the late reply. I was away this weekend.

And yes the white firebird I talked about was in the fenced off section. I jsut went back there, nobody said anything, perhaps I got lucky!

I'm going back, or at least I should be, tomorrow after school. Should be there between 3:30 and close.

Edit, by the way killert, how'd you get into the black Camaro? Did you manage to close the door of the gold car next to it? The driver's door didn't open for me and I didn't want to break any glass.

Re: Gianna's U-Pull-It (Philly) thoughts?

Door was open when I got there, I wasnt paying enough attention if it was forced open or not. The car next to it, its door was shut. Was that the camaro you wanted the hood from? It was very rusty, It actually had a hole rusted though. The dash pad was okay.. it was faded and ha a small cut in it though. I would of got it but only had 10$ on me and needed the seat belt.

Re: Gianna's U-Pull-It (Philly) thoughts?

Yeah I saw that rust spot didn't really phase me though, I just need a new hood altogether, one without chipped paint etc.

82Roc, are there any other U-Pull-Its in the area with decent third gens?

I havent found any decent 3rd gens around here for awhile.Matter of fact I havent really seen many if any 3rd gens at the local yards. The only ones I find are at yards that are much farther away. Those yards are alot bigger and have more of a selection to choose from

Went again today to the Conshohocken Shorty's, but I was there with a friend for Dodge Neon parts. The Camaros are still there barely anything on them. Someone took the dash pad out of the black one and it's around the back of it. The black one has some decent looking T-Tops, other than that, there's not really much salvagable from them.
