Deer Park Ave in Long Island

Plans fell through to hit Raceway Park, and needless to say I was a bit pissed. Decided to take a trip out to Long Island to visit my grandparents. My cousins were telling me about this DPA ( Deer Park Ave ) that I should hit Saturday night.

I had a better time there than I would have at Englishtown easily. Even though it was a little cold, many many cars were out, in packs of 5-15.

For those who are unaware of how DPA is. Its a strip of mini malls, shopping plazas, Mcdonalds ( like 4 of them within 2 miles, lol ), 7-11's, and you get the idea. It goes on for about 2-3 miles of tightly packed shops and parking lots. Each parking lot had a group of people there with some great cars. The best was when this Blown Stingray pulls up to D&D with a ridiculous idle. The car was shaking the F'ing huge windows in the D&D, LOL! The lady came out and told him to shut off the car or he had to leave..

People were cruising up and down the strip racing, driving, sight seeing, whatever. It was not uncommon to stop at a red light, and out of the 15 cars there, 10 were muscle and such. Cops were unbelievably lenient there, couldnt believe it. I pulled out of one lot, hammered it, and smoked the rubber whilst sideways for a short bit, when a cop passed me. I crapped my pants, but he kept on driving, unreal.

I was told by a regular there, that even with the approx 100 nice cars I saw there, it was a slow night. Had so much fun, made me forget about missing out on Raceway this Sat.

Maybe one upcoming weekend we can get together down there and stuff. I know quite a few people frequent that area and live in LI, or near NYC, could be fun. Anyone who lives in LI can tell ya more than me prolly, it was my first time there, so I was a bit hyped up.

EDIT: I saw a Dodge Neon absolutely smoke a 2000 SS like it was nothing, what a sad event, lol. I must say however, that the SS looked bone stock ( which I guess doesnt mean anything ), and the Neon halfway through purged a huge spray of funny juice and took the hell off....my jaw dropped lol....

Be careful of the end of the strip, its all import land, and its not uncommon to hear the term "NOS" used 50 million times, sheesh.

Sounds like a heck of a lot of fun. If only we had abandoned or minimally-policed streets here.

To tell you the truth you don't have to watch out for the twin turbo supras really, they are fast but never i repeat never race a single turbo supra with work. The easiest car to get in the 10's trust me I know of a couple. And where is deer park ave. Is it in deer park by jericho tpk? My pops lives in huntington station right up the street from the highschool. and he has a shop out in Seataucket. Let me know where this place is when I go and pick my car up i'll make it a saturday night. Damn I got a lot to do when I get my car back.
