Alex, just wanted to say nice job on the website. I really like the layout and the simplicity of the site. Looks very good, don't have much other feedback than this, will let you know if I can think of anything else to add.

so whats up with the members section
For example, we are not requesting members to pay dues, we don't send out newsletters or have private events -- we just want to share our love for the thirdgen.
Then i thought it would be neat for each 'member' to have a personal page , image gallery, link to images, timeslips, and videos but between cardomain, and tgo thats all covered -- and done very well. . .
Now i think i want to axe this idea, and provide something more useful to the community. . . mabye a 'links' page of our favorite sites would be of more use.
ideas, suggestions ?

I like the last idea, having a links page to our favorite sites would be sweet. I also think we could list our screen names along with our real names in this section so people could get on a more personal level, and know who is who when they post here on TGO and when we meet in person. We could also put the model and year of car we have next to our names. To make the list nice size yet not to big, just limit it to nor-cal thirdgen owners only.

without the spaces after the open brackets, this code should show a solid black logo linked to the site.

also, I moved the image source (sorry), to the nc3g server -- so if you want to keep it change the img src to http://www.norcalthirdgen.com/images...s/blkDecal.gif

Hows about a classifieds page? Also,I got my quotes back for the vinyl stickers and it will work out to be 10 bucks per sticker so if you have orders, place them.

The 'links' page might need to stand alone thou. Just doesn't quite fit in the above list -- unless we wanted to add personalized links to our list above. But, then I'd expect you'd have TGO, Spohn and Summit at the top of everyones list.
A classifieds page was mentioned. I like that idea too -- as my garage is full of thirdgen stuff I need to be rid of.

Update : The Sales page has been replaced by a links page. Content that was in the sales page (decals and wallpaper), now under Gallery. The Links page has been created and links to TGO and Spohn Performance have been added. More to come.

Update : We now have a members page which includes a brief description of who we are, as well as a member listing (right now just me).
You can also register your car -- once again, basic functionality is there, but no verification or form checking of any kind. To be added as time allows.
Check it out, play with it, let me know if this was what you had in mind, if anything needs to be added (cardomain page link ?), changed, etc.

Update :
Added server side form verfication to the new member registration form. Future members should find the reg process a bit more informative / a little harder to mess up.
Recreated the time slip viewer page. Instead of having to go back to the gallery to view the different timeslip categories, you can now view each category on the same page. Also timeslips now no longer show up in date submitted order - they display from fastest to slowest in each time zone.

decal update
Finally found a source for decals ! I'm much happier with this process than the few I've tried. Instead of being a 4 color printed process on clear stock we are now getting them cut from high quality vinyl.
Colors:
The good news is that turnaround is very fast, prices are cheaper becuase we are not printing -- just cutting, and we can cut just about any size imaginable.
The only downside to this method is that complex color gradients, or patterns are not possible.
So I'm thinking of 4 possible solid colors for the first run.
Red, White, Gray / Silver, and Black. There might also be a brushed metal look, I'm checking on that. . .
Pricing:
Pricing has been set at $3.00 per decal for the size above (2x6)
I will update the norcalthirdgen website later today with more pics, information on ordering, application/installation and so forth.
thanks again to pudgedawg007 for helpin me out with this !

Nice job Alex, let me know about the brushed metal look, I would be most interested in that color. Once you have the website and final colors updated I will be putting in a order for one of those.

Update : I've posted decal info on the site.
http://www.norcalthirdgen.com/gallery.php
I should have the entire run of decals in hand by the end of next week, at which time I plan on posting up some pics of the installation process and final appearance.
-- Porky, let me know if you come up with any ideas. What I'm having produced was pretty much what I had in mind and hadn't really thought about other designs.
I would like to see 'whats possible' though. . .

Update : Just to let everyone know whats currently in the works for nc3g.
Classified Ad's section. Most car parts sell locally due to shipping constraints and people wanting to see before they buy.
I anticipate to roll it out in the next week or so, once everything is linked up and working the way it should.

some help testing classifieds
If anyone has a moment to spare --
I'd like to get some feedback on the classifieds section.
It should all be there. If there's anything you don't like about it. Something that could be done better, or something that isn't right, lets hear it.

i made a post for the hell of it. though dunno if its worth it when we got tgo classifieds?
a. its the local thing, ya know
b. usually easier to sell big stuff - rears, trannys, brakes, engines, cars, etc. when shipping isn't a concern. Why most people who part out cars post on regional forums as well as classifieds.
c. i have stuff to sell.
lol

Do messages expire or do they stay around forever?
This strikes me a lot like what I do every day for my company.
~sigh~
As such, I apologize again for dweebing out from Silly-con Valley.

There is no elegant back end php code that handles expirations, rule violators, etc (not saying there can't be -- just didn't program it in). If there were objectionable material I would have to hand edit the page.
But really -- no big deal -- its what I do 60hrs a week anyway. Whats one more.
and of course no need to apologize. You raise a very valid point, which could be handled quite easily with a little extra code, which may or may not need to be added. If all else is good let's run it this way for a while and see if any would-be violaters even care enuff to spam a site with a whole 25 members.
Thanks again.
