When a guy gets curious how much his car can fetch, it's probably going to be sold sooner or later.
Had no idea you had SO many parts into that car Alex.
I posted in the other thread.

Im a man of action . . . I like building, creating and modding, not driving so much, I need a new project. This one is nearing completion.

I've got my eye on a 89 TTA (hands off the fiancee's vette) - so no, if it goes, ill be right back

Oh man, the TTA was my dream car for quite awhile.
I didn't get one only because I don't like the white/tan combination on all of them.
I settled on the GTA because they are identical physically, could get the choice of color and get it equally as fast for much less.
No question though, those turbo 6's are awesome.
Factory in the mid 13's, easily modded into the 11's.
I would take that over a Corvette ANYday.

Forget that, you guys go ahead and sell your cars. I have so much money into my car right now why would I want to start over on another thirdgen that will need the same amount of work done to it that this car has already had done. Plus with this car I know what and how things have been done. Also, you can't sell these cars for even close to what you have in them. Don't give up guys, keep your cars and watch them improve for the better in time. Besides, I look at it this way, my car will never be complete, there will always be room for improvment and change.

No plans to sell mine.
I've got over 9K invested already.
Probably another 5-6 coming before I'm done.
Who knows 5+ years from now, but right now I'm content fo sho.

to the Formula hardtop, nice car to own.

It's all good Terrell, I understand your situation. Hope it all works out for you.

Hey Robby, did you replace the EGR and MAF yet? Remember I can get you the GM parts at a discount if you want, just pm me and let me know what you need.

i bought this car in '98 with less than 70k on it, and have worked and driven it a ton in the last several years.

everything i've done to this car - i got issues . . . when you done this much to your thirdgen over so many years, you want the journey to end -- you need to say "it's done".

like terrell, i'm ready for a new machine, whether i keep this car or not.

I may have all of you beat here in the cabbage lay-out dept. Bought my 89 iroc in 95' for $9k. had 26k on the clock. sucked a head gasket at 50k. dealer put in my zz4...another $5k. the t56 went in 3 years ago, that was like $4k. have 92' firehawk wheels powdercoated gloss black ALL over even the lips $2k. I could go on and on. I have learned over the years that it's not the most dependable car, but like what was posted earlier....I know this car. all my sweat, tears, joy are sitting in this thing. Youl'l have to bury me in it. Hey Alex- if you sell, can I get that Prominator from you?

irocdaddy - i think you maybe getting confused, my PROMinator will not work for your application. It is hardwired into my car's ECM, and our cars use drastically different ECM's. I don't even think the wiring harnesses are the same. Sorry - but if it doesn't go with the car, its only value is to another TBI'er.

I get bored with cars.I have had probably 10 cars in the last 10 years and have put $$$ and hard work into all of them and then I get to a point where I know all I can about that car and have done pretty much all I can with it and then I get bored and need something new.I guess it's human nature or something. Most of my cars have been thirdgens and other gm's.I even tried the import thing (Prelude),that didn't last long. That's one reason I bought the mustang, something new.I'll keep it for sentimental reasons but there are many more cars out there waiting for me so it's not over. You always miss a car when you sell it but when you get that new toy it always makes ya feel much better.I was sad to see my t/a go but I new I had the gt to play with and it would cost less to mod so that made it easier too.Plus my wife won't yell so much since parts are cheaper .

Nope, it's taken several days for napa to ship in an egr temp sensor that i thought should be replaced since it was damaged, we'll see where to go from there, there must be some sort of vaccum leak somewhere that's messing with the egr.

well there's nothing really obvious that is wrong with my intake from appearance, except for that egr sensor, which was pretty much done for. It has new gaskets, the egr does work, it has new cap/rotor, wires, and a few new vaccum hoses that needed to be replaced, and a new o-ring that was leaking gas at the fuel rail. But whenever you start it, it has this really loud "like gas under high pressure coming out a pipe" noise from what seems like right underneath the plenum, and it won't idle. I haven't done any work to it this week, so I guess I'm still gonna be searching for what's wrong. Darn, I miss my Camaro already!

i still say to get new injectors no doubt those stock 305s are junk by now, especially under a higher load they are slightly more stressed. replace those. preferably the equivalent with what they came with stock, 22#

woah, that's weird.
i tied for 2.

Trans Am 75%

90' Turbo Supra 75%

you prefer raw horsepower over anything, but you respect other tuners regardless and they look up to you.

Glad to hear the car is running again Robby. Hope to finally see you and your car out soon. Does it feel like it has more power now, and did you get that gas leak fixed? When I had a gas leak my car lost a lot of top end power because the fuel pressure dropped.

Sorry to hear it's not working out for you Robby. Trust me when I say I know how it feels having a slow car, and mine is still slower than most thirdgen's, but it's improving a lot. I don't care what kind of 350 you have in that car, it shouldn't be that slow. I don't think a motor swap is going to solve all of your problems, something still has to be wrong.

this is bullcrap

i wouldn't take ANY of those cars that are above the Camaro on my list over a Z28 (or even a beatdown 2.8 with one wheel missing for that matter)

It never lets me register on nc3g

Everytime I fill out the form and submit it I get this

Warning: fopen(members.txt): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/local/apache/htdocs/nc3g/resources/newReg_action.php on line 67
Couldn't open the data file. Try again later.

Sorry bout that. Sounds like a permissions error - guess there are a few ends that need tyin' up after the server upgrade. Thanks for letting me know.

Ah yes, my second time around was much more fruitful.

I didn't think I answered anything different though... I just actually thought about each question this time instead of blazing through.

hey alex are you gonna put the dyno day vid on the website

http://www.zerotactic.net/videos/dynodaywed.wmv

Im working on another vid but it wont be done until after the Nojoqui Falls meet I wanna get some more footage

we should also vote for the next Featured Thirdgen for the site and maybe have the owner do a small right up of mods and what not
