shops

i'm also looking for a shop to do some suspension work. they don't necessarily need to specialize in fbody's, but would be nice. I'm having the following replaced (buying parts myself):

Springs
Shocks
Struts
Lower Control Arms (Rear)
Panhard (Track Bar)
Lower Control Arm Replacement Bolts
Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets
Panhard Mounting Hardware
Front Control Arm Bushings
Front A-arm mounting hardware kit
Sway Bar (Front)
Sway Bar (Rear)
Sway Bar Mounts (Front)
Sway Bar Mounts (Rear)
Steering Brace (Wonderbar)
Spring Bumper (Front)
Spring Bumper (Rear)
Bump Stops Front
Bump Stops Rear

most of that stuff you mentioned is not too hard to do, it would take some time, but you could save a lot and learn some stuff too maybe by doing it yourself.

you could have someone weld up the relocation brackets and press in the control arm bushings, but you should be able to do the rest with out to much trouble. Plenty of help available on here also if you need it, I've done pretty much all of that before and its not that bad...just a thought

Well, I am not aware of any 3rd Gen specific places but I do frequent GM Sport Salvage in San Jose. They have a yard full of 3rd and 4th Gens as well as a ton of other cool cars (Vettes, Buick's, GTO's, etc).

Here is their site:

GM Sport Salvage

They end up being kinda pricey but they have great quality stuff.

yeah, I been there a lot of times too, hate the people there though and definitely pricey, but they'll have what you need, just wont sell it to you cause they dont like seperating stuff and wont make any deals for you...Pick n pull is starting to have tpi cars now though which is really nice so I dont have to go there anymore hopefully

The one thing about GMSportsSalvage that I like is they're willingness to do business over the phone. When I need a specific part, be it spindles, air cleaners, or wheels, a quick phone call and reciting of those 16 digits usually gets the parts here within 48 hours.

Try that at pick-n-pull -- then again, where else can you find OE aluminum drums for $13 each.

you could bring it to us, we do ALOT of f-bodies.

We just finished my buddies project IROC too.

One time we had 8 F-Bodies in the shop haha

Give my shop a call, we do performance work as well as routine maintenance.

Alex Automotive (925) 798-1705. Ask for Lori, say you were referred by Anthony Garcia.
