What do you think. I think the only thing that has to change is the front of the car. That grill. It looks too much like a caddi.

Talk the GM representatives ear off. Tell him, NO DEMAND that they make a camaro(v8 of cousre) for 22 thousand no questions asked. Your going to represent all us guys who cant see the car in preson. When the new york auto show comes its going to be my turn.

Sorry, im gonna catch he** but... They shouldnt start making the camaro again if its gonna look like a cheap hotwheels knockoff. GM's tryin to do the new mustang/ new challenger concept look and they failed in my opinion. GM just doesnt have much style anymore.

Not a huge fan of it. I will admit that has grown on me since my initial reaction of "What friggin teridactyl flew over and sh****d that out?" but I still think it looks like the bastard-child of an 05 GT 'Stang and a 69 SS Camaro.

just got back from the LA show, and i have to tell you, i was fairly skeptical from the concept shots, but it looks SOOO much better in person, there are a lot of "new" angles for a camaro that hide in there, but once you take them all in it is a thing of beauty. its a little retro, but the overall affect is something new. Even though ive always vastly favored 'birds over camaro's, if it looks like it did today when it debuts, i will definitly be an owner.
BTW the rep was stressing that the public's reaction to the 2 concept cars would determine if the camaro actually makes a return. So even if you dont think it looks perfect, just realize that its THIS camaro, or no camaro.
its gonna take a while for me to get all the shots comrpessed and uploaded and stuff, but when im done ill drop a link here.

Pictures are okay, It was nearly impossible to get a full shot because there were throngs of people, and someone would get in the way no matter what angle i tried, and the camera was having a hard time focusing on some shots cause the car was moving. At the end i tried to get a few shots of the interior, but they didnt come out too hot from like 5 feet away

Oh yeah, the rep was saying that they would absolutely be price competitively with the mustangs, which I would estimate to be slightly higher than the mustang prices. I wouldn't be suprised to see a lot of things cut in order to do that, for sure the 21 & 22" alloys, probably the IRS, the mirror lines will probably fill out to a more typical size, roof line will probably get higher, etc. All in all though i think it will shape up to be an awesome production car. WRITE GM AND TELL THEM IT NEEDS TO BE MADE! Its future literally depends on us. The overall reaction i observed was pretty damn good, there were a lot of people who werent F-body freaks who were pretty stoked about it, one guy was bitching about how it doesnt look exactly like a '69 and therefore isn't "retro", but the presence was so awesome that it pretty much overwhelmed everyone around me.
Saw a few 3rds on the way there too . . . a clean black GTA, red 'bird, a nice black camaro and a beat up bronze IROC with some shiny 17 or 18s. It was cool to look in the side mirror and seeing a thirdgen fender flare sticking out from the car in front of it(and behind me). not many 3rds where I live.

I hope they don't offer it with those HUGE TRUCKISH wheels.
The new retro MUSTANG is HOT. The CHALLENGER, although looks strikingly very similair to the original, is a winner aswell (you can't go wrong with that).
But the new camaro concept car is just plain, UGLY!
That front end / fascia is HIDEOUS. And it didn't take anyones opinion to sway me on that. It's just my unbiased opinion the first time I had seen these pics.
The back end looks like it was designed by some import guys.
Forget it, the new CHALLENGER & the MUSTANG have it up on GM on this one.
Lately, the new CIVIC SI is looking like my next purchase.
BLAH, that's the only other thing I gotta say....

I love both the challenger and camaro concepts. My dad is going to sell his truck when they come out and buy one of them.

Allright, my opinion now stands as this, it looks better in red. The silver shots I've seen STINK. Doesent do the car justice. It doesnt look so squared off in red. Still kinda

what they need to do is make it cheap. Take the z28 model put an ls1 in it. They make thousands of ls1's. Give it anywhere from 330 to 350 horse wit 380 to 400 foot pounds of torque. Back it with the t56 either 4 or 6 speed and a 4 speed auto(buyers choice). Dont even bother with power seats or power windows. Cut all of it. Just put a heater,cd player,ac and leather. MAke it an all business performance car. With alot of those stupid little features cut out you can bring down the cost and the fact that they make ls1 crates they way they do makes them abundent. THe ss model you put everything in including the ls2. And you can still do a COPO camaro with an torqued up ls7 to go against the srt challenger and the cobra. BUt keep the z28 cheap. Make it no more then 24 grand. Then the ss will be like 29 to 31. IF they do that the only problem chevy will have is makeing enough camaros and trying to get rid of monte carlos.

And if we're gonna start talking about cutting the purchase price of this vehicle, then GM may aswell drop it's prices on on their other sport vehicles aswell.
Considering the dilemma GM is in right now, that would be disasterous for them and wishfull thinking on our part.

I don't like the front bumper/grill setup at all but I must say I love the idea they have going for the rear and the interior.
The cowl hood is very nice looking too...
The idea of having needle gauges in the center console is sick, I hope they stick with that.
a Z28 for under 30k with an LS2 would be crazy, think of the possibilites
Realistically the Camaro should be more expensive than the mustang.

bringing the price of the camaro down will only affect the monte carlo and maybe the impala. They cant come out with the camaro the way it is. it will cost 34 grand that wont sell. Just like the gto.Ls1's r good and they shouldnt scrap that for the ls2. And with the price of the vette going down the camaro cant be that high. They can just redesign the impala so it will be like a charger type of car. A four door sports car(dodge was smokeing the herbs when they did that to the charger). So it will be a fast family hauler and you get the camaro for the gear heades. The monte carlo is a piece of junk and i think the only thing keeping the car on the line is nascar. And you take the vette boost it 25 horse and thats it. You still get the cobolt so that in a sense will keep the v6 camaro from coming out.You should be able to have a camaro with 350 horse for 25 grand. Them suits are just stupid or greedy. It costs like 4 grand to build the thing and ship the thing and that is really really over estimating.
