So I worked on my iroc the other day...
Heres some shots from through out the day. many thanks to will for his commitment that day. and thanks for the dinner too! more beer next time on us.
Heres some shots of us dropping the motor in...

then after that hardwork, we forgot a few things, and with all the damn rain outside, we had to make a trip through the mountains and the floods
to town.. heres what it looked like right outside. and btw this was the only way too/from the house to town. the ls1 took it like a champ.

then after we got back, we needed something to eat, so we used the local propane heater to melt the cheese on our leftover pizza. it was too hot to handle with my hand, so like a real man, i used the closest screwdriver i could find.

and hopefully the iroc will be running this friday.

Lol, no problem for the help bish. I would do it again in a second, it was awesome, I had a blast. I still can't believe your car made it through all the flooding, lol, that was crazy. Hope all that hard work pays off and the iroc is running this weekend, let me know if you need more help. This time my car is staying in town, I don't want to get stranded again, lol. I didn't get home and in bed until 4am last night.

Ya Steve, the wife was not very happy that night, but she was a little more understanding with all the flooding.
Vin, wish you were there, Miller and Coors was flowing all night. Next time Travis has to buy though, he owes me dinner too.

didnt have much choice, was the only timing cover that was a two peice for a reasonable price.
but maybe you will change mind when you see the complete motor. chrome valve covers, breathers, fuel pump blockoff plate.

I like the engine block color, much better than the orange it had, or some red crap color. It goes very well with the black engine bay, in person it looks very good, will take some time keeping it clean though being a light color, but I think it's worth it. The chrome timing cover will fit nice with the rest of the chrome, Travis is right, looks better in person and will come together very nice, just wait and see.

I'm getting ready to buy my block in a couple of weeks.I'm thinking of sanding the block and polishing it but that would take all summer.

You are going to twist the $hit out of your chassis w/out subframes man.
They are meant for more than just stiffening the ride, they help prevent the massive flex these cars can get, especially when they get real fast.

You should be ok with the et streets you want to run with at the track, but I also agree you will need subframe connectors, better get them before you fu*k up your frame bish.
Sorry to hear it's still not running, lol, I can't believe you forgot the valve cover gaskets, that sucks, and you left bolts at your mom's house, stupid bish, that's what happens when you take crap apart at two different locations. Now the fuel lines leak, damn, bad luck, the iroc is mad that you bought a 4th gen.
