Huge new purchase

Buying a lot of the parts as referenced here: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...ercharged.html

Ok, got a killer deal on the following:
The zz4 setup does have provisions for an egr valve. I will even include the valve too. All you need is a block off plate if you choose not to run egr. the block off plate is $15 from tpisor cheaper on ebay.

For the $1050 shipped you will get:
-The tpis bigmouth base
-intake bolts for the base
-checkered flag polished valve covers
-counter-sunk bolts for the valve covers
-zz4 aluminum heads
-head bolts (though I would suggest new ones and not re-use these)
-comp cams 1.6 roller tip rocker arms
-hardened pushrods
-roller lifters
-retainer plate that holds the lifters in place
-ZZ4 camshaft

All parts have 12,000 miles on them and are working correctly.
Good deal?

So, looks like I'll be able to keep the car street legal

All that, plus my MSD 6A Box, MSD coil, cap, rotor, & plugs. Also a 52 MM TB and AS&M LTR. Bought a couple carbide bits for my rotary tool, going to port match the plenum. Also have all equipment to tune and burn a new chip

Car coming together nicely....

Now, since the engine has 190K miles on it... what other internals would you guys recommend me upgrading / replacing?

forged shortblock. my friend knows a place that does awesome work for a hell of a price. So far that shop had done 3 of my friends 3gen motors. One that is currently in the works is a fully forged full roller 355 built for nitrous.

Having it pulled and rebuilt would be bank. Just the labor would probably be $1,500 - $2,000. The shortblock would probably be around $2,000 for a build with good parts. You could pull the motor take it to a shop and have them build it and then you could drop it back in and save big money, if you have the know how.

that same shop did my friends g/f forged vortec 355 tbi long block for 1300 parts labor. OF course my friend took out the engine. Parts include stock regrounded 350 crank, eagle forged rods, forged alum piston, custom cam, federal mogul bearings, ported/polished vortec heads, the block was bored .030 over, and been balanced. All my friend had to do is drop the engine in, hook up all the electrical, waterpump, headers, slap his edelbrock tbi intake and started it up.

Ya, that's what I'm probably looking for. Except I have the heads, cam, rockers, lifters and rods. To me, I'd need to figure a way to pull the engine and transport it. Guess I could buy a cherry picker.... but how do you transport an engine? Throw it in the back of a truck i suppose...

Well my friend bought a cherry picker for $150 at harbour freight. works great. To transport the engine, throw a old tire on the bed of the truck and plop the engine on top of it.
