Iroc update.

Today I ordered my final batch of parts. Waiting on one guy to get back to me for the fuel injectors next week, and on monday I have to decide whether to go D1sc or F1a procharger.. Talking 3600 or 4100 dollars depending on the model. What would you guys do? If I can make the power to run 10's on a D1sc max'd out, around 15ish psi, I think I will just do that, I don't know if I can justify the F1a upgrade for the extra 500 they want. I have all weekend to think it over. Give me your thoughts

Re: Iroc update.

Does the F1A fit under the stock hood and work with the D1SC bracket and everything?

It seems like if you're already spending that much money, $500 isn't that much more. Buy the bigger head unit or you know you'll regret it later.

Re: Iroc update.

Hate to say it, but 500 dollars is cheap now versus the extra 3300 for an F1A later. Go for broke. It will do great burnouts.

Re: Iroc update.

my honest opinion u can blow it up with both ure combo with the parts u have is a easy botom 10 combo realistic but if ure tryin to push the envelope hey go with the f1 and push for the 9.s ive seen on smaller d1 pushin 700 to the wheels on 15 .psi enough for 10.5 .10.0 depending on wieght and hooking it d1 keep it alive f1 run for awhile awsome numbers and push it enough to blow it up what head gaskets did u go with mls gasket o ringed ?ure combo on motor should be knockin high 11.s with out the charger once dialed in and being able to hook it and drive it

Re: Iroc update.

I'm not going to say either way Trav, but don't let the $ be the deciding factor.

After all the re-do's, rebuilds and newly invested parts, when all is said and done I'm sure you'll have invested well over 25K into this car, $500 shouldn't sway you either way.

It's going to be an interesting setup regardless, so I just hope it's successful for you and doesn't blow up.

$500 is peanuts. I'd buy the F1a.

Yeah, that car is impressive. He's running some very high boost though, and the F1R barely fits in the engine bay, heh.

Valencia is right, you can make good numbers with the D1SC. You can't go too wrong either way but cost really shouldn't be what you're worried about. I definitely wish I could afford to buy a brand new Procharger system (well, guess I probably could if I really wanted to) but I'm going to try my hand at building a budget turbo system.

Re: Iroc update.

static is 8.5 and cam is a 236/248 @ .050 113 lsa
dynamic is around 6.4:1 but with boost in mind, 15 psi puts me around 13:1 a little scary but doable, especially with methanol

can I ask why?

Well I talked the guy down a few hundred with pricematching. I think I will get it for no more then 3800 now, that's the F1a.

Its official, Procharger is ordered new. 3700 out the door for a basic 12rib F1A kit with race bypass valve.

Way to take the plunge Travis. I'm sure it will be a fun mod.
I got my P1SC brand new for $2500, but it wasn't from a vendor.

In other news, I got my longtubes installed today, was quite easy, just jacked up the car as high as possible lol. pretty straight forward install otherwise, but of coarse I am lacking a ton of **** you people still have. but its nice and I got my dual flex fans wired up correctly and they are ready to roll

Re: Iroc update.

And I have crap for ground clearance for my exhaust, I have no idea what I am going to do yet. For the meet I will probably run turndowns right off the headers and be super loud lol.

I can't run exhaust pipe on the drivers side under the subframe, I have 4" ground clearance, and if I run a 3" pipe. guess what...

Re: Iroc update.

Looks great bro, and I am very jealous of the long tubes as I basically have had them in every vehicle I have owned damn near and loved every crackle. But I can't give away any ground clearance esp. if I want to go lower a bit

How is that belt going to be routed? Is that still a reverse rotation water pump?

Oh and you're missing your #8 primary tube.

It is reverse rotation, I will add an idler pulley if the belt doesnt make enough contact.

This is a 7Cylinder engine, their is no #8...

properly setup, the car shoud easily go 10's on that setup with the D1 blower at 15 psi. you have good heads and nice big cam, that thing should fly even with small boost

Re: Iroc update.

The lack of ground clearance on our cars sure can limit first choice add-ons. I just finished replacing the complete suspension and the Hotchkis progressive springs dropped it so low that I now have to pull my extra large tranny pan and go back to a stock size; PITA! One large pot-hole would have cracked it right off.
sure wish I could afford some March Pullies for my lil' b*tch....
