So halloween night, I move my car into the grass in next to the driveway (off the street and semi hidden) and I leave... The next morning, I have a flat tire... So one shanked it... WTH... I went out of my way to get it off the street so nobody messes with it... but no, doesn't work... BTW, my car was the only car messed with in the whole street.

Last november I had a cinder block thrown at my car causing my a dented hood and a broken windsheild...

Then in School, I had my car keyed, soda thrown all over it, Air let out of my tires...

Then 3-4 years ago a bat was taken to it causing a smashed hood, windsheild, side window, and a small dent in my fender...

WHY IS IT ALWAYS MY BIRD! WTF...

X10s website is EXTREMELY childish, full a half naked girls, as if only guys will buy their products. But I have been using X10 for YEARS and absolutely love it. I no longer even use light switches on my house. They are either motion activated or controlled by remotes that control ALL my lights. Yes. ANY remote can control ANY light in my house, if I choose.

That sucks my... My car got hit on the front bumper one day, (hit and run) then the back bumper the next day, but I saw who did that one, and then three weeks ago the garbage truck hit the corner of my front bumper causing it to crack. Luckily I was there to witness that one too. All of these incidents happened in our narrow street

 

I don't have any enemies that I know of, and no Ex's on a war path. I still talk to my Ex's, so they wouldn't mess with her. Why is it always my car...

oh wait, i almost forgot. i was at home "messin around" with my gf around 3 a.m. and i heard a loud truck out side creapin and then it stopped. i heard people talking. so i started walking up to my window and i saw this guy standing behind my car telling the driver of this huge truck to back up, then he slammed into my rear bumber. i ran in my laundry room threw some boots on and sprinted out the door as they were taking off. not to mention it was the DEAD WINTER (snow everywhere) and i got in my car and tried chasing them... but couldnt even get out of my parking spot!!!! by then they were gone

 

I am sorry for your bad history with your car. Cars like 3rd gens get a fair bit of attention. Usually it is all good, but occasionally you get the bad kind (probably from some F*** h*** who is jealous that they can't have a car like it). I rarely take my 82 TA to work, but there are the few days where I do. After work I was about to jump in the car, when I seen something on the bonnet. I took a closer look and someone had spit all over it! Not just a normal spit, it was really thick and slimey. I sacrificed my clean hanky to get them off. I was fuming. If I had of caught the little ***** in action, I'm sure I would be looking for another job. Anyway, I head off to my brothers who live about 30Km's away doing highway speeds. Low and behold, there is still 1 big clump of spit holding on the front side of the bumper. Unbelievable. Some people are dirty animals.

 

Could be a case of mistaken identity someone who has a car similar to yours. Happened to me got my car worked over by some gangbangers because a rival banger had a similar car.

 

Ouch. There are a lot of douchebags in Chico though. Especially around this time of year. I think they were saying something like over a hundred arrests on Halloween with around 50 of em' being from out of towners..

 

I am just sick of it. I was going to repaint my car in January, but I leave in Feb/Mar for basic training, and it will be sitting for a long time, so I don't think I am going to get it painted till I take it to where ever I am. I can just picture me getting the paint all perfect, and coming back 9 months later to have it keyed or something...

And yes, when it was batted it was still my dad's car... But when I got it 1-1.5 years later, I got to clean out all of the glass. He fixed it all, but he never really drove it, so he never really vacuumed it.

Just too many low lifes in your state. My '84 HO was vandalized twice in Southern California in a one year period. Losers see your car and know they don't have what it takes to ever obtain something that nice in life.

Could (and does) happen in other places but the obvious solution is to move somewhere with a lower concentration of low lifes. Also helps to have secure parking at home and work and to otherwise never let your car out of your sight.

well i just got my iroc so nothing has happened to it yet...or hopefully ever!

when i had my toyota pickup(my first vehicle) i just finished fixing it since i had gotten it wrecked, and just painted it. seriously the night it was done, i was woken up by my neighbor at 3am, someone probably drunk lost it coming around the corner i live on and took out the other side of the truck, then took off.

never been so pissed in my life! i still have thier hubcap, and if i ever see a old black and white cougar with 3 caps, it may still wind up in thier winshield

Some people think that if you damage someone's stuff, that somehow it them getting even with you for something, that most times, you know nothing about.

Don't know what branch, I recently retired from Navy after 20 years.

Don't bother with a repaint until you get your car at your first duty station.
If they damaged it once, twice, etc. they will damage it again.
The camera idea works great, used it myself once or twice in the past.

Catch them, prosecute them and then get the court to order restitution.
Shooting them is too easy, no prolonged pain or anything.
You can kill someone with a plastic knife, it just takes longer!

This is all sucks hearing about this. I had my car silly stringed in daylight by this chick. Soda by a mad old roommate after kicking him out, keyed by some dudes because i had a party and ladies were only allowed only after the first hour, etc. It bothers me when people vandalize out of jealousy or because their brains are too small they cant help themselves. I had it parked for 6 months in the driveway luckily it survived 1/200th of a century in the open, stayed up during Halloween last year, and fixed the garage door tracks to finally park inside--> missed the egging of my house by weeks. I still stay up at night waiting for that exhaust tone coming down the street, with shoes on and readiness to preform a civilian's arrest of least one dummy for felony vandalism. I get egged once a year at least, by the same suspected group of people. Yes its a bad idea to let women know where you live in general, they are different in the head . Some one tried boosting the car once, i think the wiring for the 85' being unique threw them off to start it. They jacked the tape deck, losers. Had my Top gun soundtrack in it. I park in the garage and wait at night. Yes its retarded, but it increases the chance of confronting the people and humiliating them, The eggings even stimulated neighbor hood watch-->together consisting of at least 15 houses with signed posted through-out the street(put a big one on my fence). As far as shooting people? i prefer public humiliation. I believe i could smash someones face inside out with my fists or possibly collapse their throats with my giant fingers being 6'5 300+lbs, but i general its a bad a idea, too much to lose, however, humiliation seems to do more damage psychologically to the moral self esteem. Just from experience. I set up security camera a while back and still got egged. I set up a security light motion sensor big bright 150watts each to help the security camera because of lack of light in egging video from before, and the people egged the light too. probably 10 eggs. I had to paint the whole garage door and razor scrap the windows. Women! ALso various dudes jealous because i used to get all the biches. Obese now. ha.

Dude, it could be simply because you live in northern Cali. I lived there from birth to 25 years old then once again when I was 32. Loved everything but the crime. Every car I've had has been hit one way or another. Had a 69 Chevelle, it was broken into and everything stolen out of it. My mom's 68 bird was broken into and the deluxe interior was slashed up. Her 88 bird was stolen and left teetering on a ditch with her Centerline wheels missing. My new S-10 was broken into only a few days after I bought it. My Prism was broken into, everything was stolen from it. And then my Lumina had a rear window busted, my wife's ipod was stolen from it.

I moved to Georgia. I've lived in three different areas here, never had anything broken into. I've been here for 10 years. California just has a problem with crime, it sucks, I know. All I can say is put the car in the garage, if you don't have one then you need to move to a house or apartment that does. That's it.

 

I've lived here in CA all my life, never once had any of my vehicles broken into or vandalized. Hell, a buddy of mine leaves his keys in the ignition of his '02 Chevy truck all the time. Every state will have bad areas for crime.

It could be a case of jealousy too. Ive seen people key other peoples cars jus for the fact they were jealous and figured, if i cant have a nice car neither will you. A buddy of mine left his t-tops down one night when met at the mall and somebody threw a lit cig in his car and caught the driver seat on fire. I havent really had that many problems, I had somebody steal my gas cap, somebody has spit on my car a couple times, and me and my friend caught a couple of guys putting green spray paint and permanent marker on his 84 el camino ss, and putting syrup on my camaro, that was the only time I had to get rough with somebody over my car. They never messed with anybodys cars again after that though lol I mean, im a nice guy but messin with my car sets me off, cuz its like people dont understand how much time and money people put into their cars.
