Blasphemy?

I know you Muscle car enthusiasts Love the stock American look. Other than maybe ride height, hood, wheels/rims, tinted windows, and other basic performance/style mods, You wouldn't change the essence of the camaro right?

Would this count as Blasphemy in your books? Some of you probably have seen this before, but i had to put it up.

I think it looks wicked.

Re: Blasphemy?

I all depends on what you start with. If it started at some rare(and desireable) car it would make people say"NOOOOOOObut if it started life as a 4 cyl rs w/body damage then it would be like giving it a new better life. but really if it is your car, then it is your choice in how to express yourself.

Re: Blasphemy?

I sorta like some of that car. But the spoiler to me is 100% rice. It would have been fine with the standard 3-piece spoiler or the high rise spoiler.

But to a degree, it's a bit overwhelming. My opinion is it's border line on being rice. But, unline most riced out cars, the front nose and ground fx still flow similiar to the stock counter parts.

Re: Blasphemy?

Def agree with the spoiler comment.. front end looks good, fenders have jus a little too much flare. Not really feelin the testarossa look. But it has potential.. def better not be a rare model car.

Re: Blasphemy?

With a cowl hood no wing and stock ground effects that thing would look sweat i would definitely drive it.

Re: Blasphemy?

Maybe it's just me, but that looks an awful lot like a digital render, and not an actual car.

But it is tacky for sure. And this is from a guy with bright red 79 Trans Am...

Its too busy. The third generation Camaro and Firebird have very clean lines. Anything that takes away from that is generally not good. Or in this case you add a bunch of busy crap to a body that is ordinarily clean, and you've got a mistmatch of parts that just doesn't flow very well together. The spoiler is 100% park bench style *****. The hood isn't far off from that. Its almost like the aborted fetus of the JC Whitney catalog and a Fast & Furious movie. I don't hate everything about it, afterall there is a Camaro under there somewhere. But most of what I can see is trash at best. So many of the lines and features in that rendering just don't mesh together. The fender vent thing that stops at the nose for example. WTF is that? The extra lines on the edge of the wheel wells just look like painted versions of those crappy chrome fender flares that come from the afore mentioned JC Whitney catalog. The very bottom part of the ground effects just looks tacked on and doesn't flow with the lines found on any other part of the car. The opposing vents behind the front wheels and in front of the back wheels do not mesh at all. The whole rendering is full of concepts that individually aren't necessarily aweful, but together just create something that would be better found aborted in a dumpster than actually used for anything. Among the worst offenses in that image are the 60's throw back rear view mirrors. It just doesn't fit with the theme of the vehicle. Neither the original car or the vehicle presented in that image.

Its just bad. Different is good when its good. Different is bad when it sucks.
