hooker 2055. Is there a hooker equivalent without a.i.r.?

What is the hooker 2055 equivalent without the A.I.R. pipes?

There have to be so many guys out there wanting to know this without wading through pages and pages of law debates, emissions controls, and righteous owners declaring any mod to the smog system a modern day blasphemy.

Also, if you plan to tell me to "search for it" I will pre-emptively declare a "**** off" and sentence you to 4 hours of uneventful websearching and condemn you with that nagging feeling that you get when your question is never answered and you're to blame for even asking.

Hooker 2460. But the y-pipe that comes with the 2055 is better, so most people go with those.

So thanks for the straight answer. I searched for awhile now after you pointed this out and my conclusion is that a custom 3" y pipe for the 2460 is not available as is for the 2055s?

Or did I completely miss something?

A custom one is available, as in custom from a shop, or yourself if you have the equipment to do it. There isn't a Y pipe made by Hooker for the 2460

Re: hooker 2055. Is there a hooker equivalent without a.i.r.?

The previous owner deleted cat...I want headers. A.i.r. not functioning and dont need it to.

I think its silly to pay 479.99 for headers that are not what I want for the y pipe than pay the 169 or 200 for the 2460s.

Is there not an option that comes out under 479 while getting exactly what you need?

Yeah, just saw your post so my last one means nothing.

Okay. Thanks!

I thought I wasn't searching hard enough...turns out I was searching too much.

I'm in the same boat, haven't needed A.I.R for a while as I got a new cat that doesn't use it and had been searching for a bit, tried to save you some time. If you plan on keeping these headers for a while, invest in ceramic coating them properly or get those already coated ( I think Pep Boys does special order on them), inside and out, it will keep the temp down, prevent rusting, and make for better air flow but will raise the price. Summit has them for cheap because they have no Y pipe and are painted not coated.

From what I have heard over the years, they are well worth their price.

I'm confused as to why everyone says Don's are the best. His Y is also 2.5", unless I'm completely missing something. Not a knock on Don, I have heard great things, I'm just confused why everyone condemns the 2460's for the exact same thing.

I think the big part it that they are custom made for our cars, and instead of taking it to a shop to make a brand new y pipe you can hook it all up and just get the new pipes welded to the old

2460 uses thicker gauge steel. They are heavier, flow less, and have the added expense of needing a Y-pipe.

But the Y-pipe goes to a 3" outlet not 2 1/2"
