Chart of CARB max allowed numbers
I am thinking of setting up a spread sheet of the CARB max allowed numbers for 5.0 and 5.7 TPI's.
What I need is the brand (FB/Camaro) model (TA, GTA, IROC etc), year, engine size, engine year, auto or stick, city of registration, test month and year, and all 6 max allowed numbers.
For those with previous tests with higher max allowed include those too as a separate vehicle.
If you don't want to post it send me a PM.
If I get enough response I will do it, if not - oh well.
I am doing this due to the random drop in max allowed by CARB and if i get enough data will send it to SAN.
I don't need your pass numbers

The numbers in the first link do not match anything I have seen.
The second chart is what currant max numbers are, and some do not match the test center print outs I have seen.
And we are looking for previous test max allowed to see when the numbers were lowered and by how much. We have minimal data that indicates an ~30% drop in the max allowed numbers last year. Some are saying the max allowed is different by county, which could be. So basically I want to see max allowed from actual tests not what CARB puts on its web site. We are finding variations of max allowed on extremely similar vehicles registered in the same county.

Re: Chart of CARB max allowed numbers
here is an old chart http://www.bar.ca.gov/80_BARResource...M_Ave_Ph43.pdf maybe this will look more like what what you have seen
the first link is for people who live in "basic" areas-like myself those are the pass/fail and gp #'s I use
since I live/work in a basic area I have not had to deal with the changing standards, but just for the fun or it a looked at what an '85 5.0 Camaro would have for pass/fail limits, and they have increased the max limits with the new limits. Maybe what you have heard about count to county could have to do with the defferent program areas this map shows where the lines are drawn http://www.bar.ca.gov/80_BARResource...rogram_Map.pdfbasic areas (dark blue) get a two speed idle test (the first chart) orange shows enhanced areas they get a dyno test.
I will try to dig up some old tests and post them for you

Re: Chart of CARB max allowed numbers
well I stand corrected, I just dug up some old tests on my wife's '83 z28 it has crossfire injection-Iknow you were looking for tpi, but cfi is what I got I have 3 tests(the prior owners had all paperwork) 2 are from Santa Rosa, 1 is from San Jose I have dates of 2006 and 2008 all have the same pass/fail limits:
15mph HC 128 Co .93 No 1097
25mph HC 101 Co .73 No 927
I looked up the pass/fail on the website, and the limits would be:
15mph HC 89 Co .66 No 768
25mph HC 71 Co .52 No 649
15mph HC 128 Co .93 No 1097
25mph HC 101 Co .73 No 927

The problem with that 2003 charts and others is you have to add A+B /VLW to get the numbers and VLW vehicle loaded weight isn't handy.
I know about the different areas. What started this is us talking about cars in the yellow areas of the Los Angeles basin, we are experiencing different data on similar cars in what should be the same max allowed numbers.
Right now the easiest and most legal numbers are the ones printed on your test result sheet.

o.k. I get your point, as you can see even those of us that test and repair these cars are in the dark. They pass new laws and expect us to be on line every day to know what to do.
Good Luck.

Re: Chart of CARB max allowed numbers
I am, I am, but we are STILL working from a "rule book" that says "DRAFT" on the front page, it sucks, what was O.K. yesterday is not good today. Cold air intakes were not an area of concern, the day after I passed one, and sighted the section where they are stated that they are o.k. I found out they need an EO # for OBD II boy was I pissed, I take pride in doing proper legal smogs. I have been offered over $200 to "make it pass" I went to too many classes and my wife put up with my mother for too long to lose my license over stupid s**t.
