Iroc update
So I got a new job and shortly here getting out of kragen oreilly finally. I'm working at a casino as a slot tech making substantially more money. So I'm celebrating by purchasing my new lca relocation brackets and new lca's in tubular double spherical rod ends.
Think this will give me the bite I need to jump into the tens? Or at least more consistent 60. ?

I think it'll deffinately help. How much? hard to say. But technically if you take one tenth off your 60' you'll be two tenths faster in the 1/4 mile which will be near a 10.99 pass based upon your best pass right? Thats awesome. Red Hawk or Thunder valley? your the type of insider a gambler like me needs

Re: Iroc update
Finally leaving the Kragen legacy behind, congrats. All growns up now. Can you hook up anything at RH?
I wouldn't count on LCA's to perform 10 second miracles, but maybe they can help keep that 60's to a consistent 1.7 range.
I'd recommend the weld-in style brackets. Pretty sure UMI are bolt-in only.

Re: Iroc update
Well the UMI's do bolt in but you can also weld them in. I have never welded them but have had them on the car for like ehh 3 years I wanna say..maybe I should retorque them at some point and time...haha...anyway usually someone always has a preference. I think all thos ebrands make good quality. i have only used Spohn and UMI. But I have heard great things about Founders so far. And they are a few dollars cheaper on everything.

If I can help with any questions regarding a UMI item or suspension in general please ask. Also if you are looking to save a few dollars we are running an Independence Day sale beginning on July 1st.
Thanks!

I had 20 dollar one that expired yesterday i forgot about til Traviz said something damn. I dont plan on buying from summit anytime soon. that 9.95 is better than the 30 dollars or more it would be straight from UMI

Atec is the way to go. Its the wholesale side of Summit. Same building, just different.
I dont think LCA is going to do anything for your 60', just going to change your IC.
I'd put some adj shocks on there & scale your car...
but what do I know, 10.1 @ 138

From what I was watching, it looked like it hooked well, so I'm thinking he may not be getting any wheel hop (yet), because his launch is either too soft, or the converter is not being used properly. When it launches harder, the LCAs & bracketry will do their job.

LCA and (mainly)relocation brackets should help his 60' some, because his car is lowered 2".

Re: Iroc update
by scaling the car I think he means front to rear weight ratio proportioned properly? ive never gotten that deep into fine tuning cars for a racetrack because the fastest car I ever had only ran a 13.7

Re: Iroc update
I highly recommend UMI over Spohn, BMR, or anything else. Top notch quality and the pricing is very reasonable. I've got their Brackets and Panhard, would like to ditch my old global west LCA's and get a set of tubular LCA's from them as well. I'd have gone all UMI if I didn't piece my suspension together over the course of 5 years.

Re: Iroc update
Yeah before UMI hooked up with Summit I had heard some ehh things about service and responses but since then its been all good that I heard. Spohn lately has been having problems with fitment issues that they "know" about that they dont inform you of when you buy it. Mainly thier a-arm and k-member setup.

Re: Iroc update
I got my reloc brackets today. They are bmr. I was mistaken . I guess umi doesn't offer bolt in brackets. But I did for sure order umi lca's. Hopefully they arrive today. I'm eager to play with new parts. Where is umi located? The parts were being drop shipped from there directly.

Re: Iroc update
yeah thats one thing I havnt changed is the sway bars...oh and the torque arm..but I did put a torque arm relocation crossmember on the car. freaking love it. I mean rear suspension wise too. Front suspension is stock, cept for poly bushings, kyb struts, drop springs, wonder bar, edelbrock tie rod sleeves.

Re: Iroc update
As far as scales, you need alot of adj'l suspension already on your car so as to distribute weight, and pre-load the R/R tire.

Re: Iroc update
Good Morning Travis-
I think it's been a couple years now since I picked up that set of 88-89 double stripe IROC wheels from you and tried to stuff them into my mostly trunkless G-35; that was a great deal you gave me by the way, thank you! I've got a couple questions for you that I'm hopping you might find the time to answer.
I had to have surgical work done to my lower back and neck right after I picked those wheels up and am just now getting back to my 88 IROC. It turns out I snagged a great deal on a Paxton blower system which should be arriving at my house sometime this week. Spohn is having a good sized sale over this holiday weekend. I bought a bolted on and then taken off, new set of A-arm last week off the 'For Sale Board', and now I can match it with the actual Spohn K member.
So my question for you there is what motor mount did you use? I havn't installed the new engine yet. I spent a bunch of time recuperating from medical and then I went nutz grinding off all the casting crap and extra numbers for when I paint next week.
If it were you Travis, would you install the engine with all the heavy TPI porting, blueprinting from end to end and then do a set of Dyno test runs BEFORE installing the paxston system? OR?????
Lastly; you and I have quite similar suspension setups. I installed Koni yellows up front, but installed a used set of Koni reds in the rear. I know the rear bounces heavily about. I want to replace them with a new set of adjustbles. Got any ideas or feedback? I know there are those KYB's floating around our Rocklin area, but I've never thought of KYB as a sophisticated product.
The reason I picked the Paxston unit is due to its compatability with heavy backroad driving. I didn't want a blower coming on like a bottle of Nitrous.
Anything else you can think of to throw my attention towards? It's all greatly appreciated. As usual, Many Thanks- Nitro-Nicky
