Holy **** mike! Damn man, it wasn't smoking when you drove off though?
I guess they went on the way back home though. Crud. What do you think caused it so far? Any guesses? Or are you just gonna wait to make a diagnosis till you pull it apart?

Are you sure it just isn't bad valve seals?
How much smoke was there? Was the smoke only there on startup?
Or was it there constantly and get worse with throttle?
I would hate to think bad rings with a fresh rebuild recently.

****UPDATE****
the rings are fine. its a blown head gasket Or a cracked head.... most likely a cracked head i know it has to be one of the two cuz i looked at the oil dip stick and there was anti-freeze mixed in with. and with how low my anti frezze is it has to be a cracked head. i think its time for AFR heads....
again.... SON OF A BI*CH

Just because the antifreeze is low doesn't mean it's definately a cracked head. Drain your oil and see how much of it comes out.. Changing head gaskets is an easy job on our cars, if you know what you're doing it should only take you about 45 min. to get the suspected head off and see where you stand. Seeing how you had no problems on your way home, then all of the sudded this happened the next day, I'm willing to bet it's a head gasket rather than a cracked head.. Although if your engine was getting too hot, the sudden overheating and cooling can crack heads..

Nope it never ran hot till i drove it home from work Wenday. and it only want hot for about 30mins... but i think it really messed up the motor..... loud valve train sounds (not rod knocks) so i odn't know if i just want to dump the motor i have now and put in a 305 and is even beffed up them min for $1,700 or put $3,500 into it and get a 350 ZZ4 from Jegs but i don't have $3,500 so i don't knwo what i want to do yet.
Just because you are getting valve train noise doesnt mean that something is really messed up. If you have antifreeze in the oil I doubt that it is lubricating like it should which could cause some noise. If you dont know which head it is I would do a compression check until you find it and take that head off to inspect.
Good luck.
Ben
PS, if you do end up replacing the motor and you think that you might be able to afford the 350 some how I would go that route.

we are pulling off both heads cuz they are both goign to be messed up. as frot he 350 i don't have the money for a 350 rigth now. i'm goign to buy a short block and slowly put parts for ti and get it built the way i want... i don't want to go cheap when i get my 350 built
