Senseless Destruction

Well, some of you may remember my "Car-ism" post, in which i hinted at a project of mine, well, this isn't it. But i might as well let the cat out of the bag, right?

I plan on doing penetration testing on the 85 IROC I've got that no one seems to want, I'm gonna further strip it, then I'm having some friends over and we're going to see how...safe, our cars are when shot in different areas, from the front, from an angle, then from the side, all on the passenger side, because there's a higher probability of being shot from the passenger side (closer to the sidewalk, passengers more likely to be taunting pedestrians, etc). I plan on using several distances (10yds, 25yds, 50 yds, 100yds) and several calibers (.177, .22, .22mag, .223, .25, .270, .30, 30-06, .308, .38, .44 mag, .45, and shotguns (.410, 20ga, and 12ga with buckshot and slugs). However, if the car is penetrated early on from long distances with small calibers, then I'm skipping the larger calibers, and moving to the shotguns....and then probably just saturating the entire car).

I've gotta remove ground effects, gauge cluster, door glass, and the heater motor, then it'll be ready and I'll post pics...

i'm thoroughly disappointed by gas tanks, in all the movies they blow sky high, then i decided to light one on fire out of a buick skylark (don't ask) and also i have a video of a friend's car we burned after he totalled it...no explosion...it went "thud"....really dull thud at that, and then just burned for like 15 minutes (friend's car burned for over 4hrs)

I got a 9mm if you want. I could even bust out the hollow points and put some massive holes in that thirdgen. That's not the one with the cowl hood is it? Cause if it is, wait and let me get that or buy it off ya.

Maybe you could donate the car to a poor sap here who cant afford one?

I would hate to see it shot it and left to die.

but, to each his own

yeap, i was in the fire dpt for 5 years.... most of them dont even go thud....

if you can, setup a camcorder on a tripod next to the car to record the fun up close.... if you record on the highest quality setting (lowest time) you may be able to play it back in slow mo and watch the panel waver an stuff...

No, this isn't MY car, this is a friend's car that I bought. The drivetrain is now in a truck, the rear end is in my car, the glass is out of it, the car is ghetto stripped and the front end is pushed back (it ran head on into a guardrail at 40ish), as a result most of the interior has blood stains (carpet, seats, etc) nothing massive, he's alive and well, don't get the wrong idea, he just cut his head up pretty bad when it broke the window and bled all over, the steering wheel is bent, i took the hatch off. From the firewall back, the car is straight as an arrow, no rust anywhere, but i put it up here and no one wanted it for body panels or anything, so i'm doing this.

yea, the explosion thing crossed my mind, one of my friends wants to put a LP tank between the seats...i don't think thats a great idea though...thats gonna raise more questions at the junkyard than the bullet holes, and i expect quite a few questions

I dunno, i get depressed as hell when i walk through the junkyards around my area. To see what was someones first car or a showroom display car become a sad looking P.O.S. It weirds me out because I beleive even an inatimate object still has a soul.
Have fun with whatever you plan to do, just don't get caught. The fuzz are everywhere.

cops? i haven't seen a cop within 5 miles of my house for about six years...and if by some chance they did come, they'd probably join in. There's no gun laws around here, if i feel like shooting cans at 3am with a .308, not a soul around that has any objections. As long as the conservation police aren't called, those bastards are vicious, they don't need warrants or anything else, if they thought i was poaching, i'd be doing 20 to life, thats why i plan on doing this in broad daylight.

Always wanted to take a junk car and see what I could do with it with all my guns, too bad I live to far or I would bring some toys of mine over with some extra ammo! Oh well maybe I will find a nice Ford Mustang and sacrifice it to the Camaro Gods so they will deliver us new Camaros! :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail:

Think of a Junk Yard as a temporary rest stop for those weary car souls while they wait to be re-inCARnated. ^_^

Tree hugger my ****! I don't have a prob with junkyards, because you can find good stuff at a fraction of the price there. But being there just bums be out. I just don't see wasting money and time on ammo to blow the hell outta something. But i could care less about what happens.

Can you imagine the reaction of the state trooper who pulls this guy over on the way to this hillbilly revival.

Good times.

having lived in both places i can truthfully say:

they both have hicks and as$holes.. but theres more as$holes in the north then hicks and more hicks in the south then as$holes.

id now say enbefodaloc but thats agienst the rules.
