Finally got the TH350 in the car and running today, with my hand made cutsom trans mount/torque arm mount (actually looks pretty nifty). It needs some more fluid (big pan) but other than that it catches really hard when it hits the 3k stall level. The quarter stick shifts really nice too, makes a difference over the z-gate shifter I had a while back. (Sorry, not try to brag, just really excited)

I can't wait for some dry pavement to open it up on, rain soaked road stinks. But I built the engine and trans all by myself, so this is a "self-pride" thing for me, and I can't wait for TGO, I am comin for that trophy Steve .

And I can't wait for the track either.....

U running a big tranny cooler with that stall? U better be.

Sounds like your project worked out.

I love it when a plan comes together :-)

I got a cooler up front and the pan itself has a cooler built in.

Now the real problem is I was taking the car home and the trans was leaking and I didn't know it....and I smoked the trans completely.....there goes $100 in clutches alone....so looks like the car WON'T be at the fest....today sucks

And to top that off I woke up to a flat tire on my daily drive so now I have no car.....I think I will just go back to sleep...

fixing it is going to cost more the second time around. when i pulled it apart the first time some one (last time I do it at school where everyone wants to "help") flipped my smaller of the 2 pump gears so that cause not enough pressure in the system, which in turn cause me to fry the direct drum/input shaft, which cause the forward drum to also get hot and ruined the clutches and steels in there, and the pump wore into itself and ruined that.....so i am going to have to buy a rebuildable core for all the parts and use those along with a few new ones to rebuild mine.....hurray for me!! not really.....

jay still has that TH350 sitting outside at his house, if you wanted to grab that off him.

i lucked out, after a few hours of driving around i found a place that had all the hard parts i needed for EXTREMELY cheap ($45 for the pump and forward drum/input shaft). i also got ahold of some new-ish steels and clutches and such, so hopefully I have all i need and can have it back together by tonight and in the car tomorrow.....we can only hope

btw Steve, if (i think it is) flirtin1 brings that blown Camaro we may be fighting him for the trophy....i learned nothing beats a crome blower

TPI = Trans Parts Indiana in Griffith IN has all kinds of trans parts in stock, both new and used.

I've never had an issue with parts from there when I've used them and they stock damn near everything.

I would never buy a trans from them however.
