Almost looking like an engine again!

I really need to do something about those valve covers. They look horrible. They have some rust bubbles on them too. I need to sand them down and blast them. Thinking matt black.

can see the old motor hanging out in the background. Unloved but not alone. It still has its T56 buddy, but the T56 is jumping ship tomorrow.

The day is coming. Soon it will breath again.

I'm about 2hrs south of Chi town.
Just bring me the motor....the least I can do is ease you the grief of mulling over the covers...Lol!!!

Are you thinking something like fab'd aluminum tall style?

Re: Almost looking like an engine again!

No, probably more like taking the rust down and repainting with a matt black finish.

Old Motor is free.

But warning.

Its got a lower end knock. It will need a rebuild. No idea if anything else is wrong with it.

Re: Almost looking like an engine again!

It is sad. Engine is in the car, but I've run into a money situation and can't afford to drive out to my Dads to work on the car.

I need to get the trans in the car.

As it last sits. I want to paint the bay, really need to do that. its so ugly. Old intake is on the car currently to keep crap out of the galley. I have paper towels stuffed down the intake ports too.
