This board is for people to organize caravans to Thirdgen Fest. If you're coming from the south and want to cruise up with other people from your area, post your information here. Meeting places can be arranged to head to the gathering as a group. (Note: This board is for people outside the Chicago area. If you are local, there are caravan boards on the Chicago suburbs board.)

 

So who's all going from South Carolina?? I'll be driving my Camaro, I plan on following a caravan up there...

 

I'm interested, but I can't commit to anything yet. There are a few long trips I'd like to make....

 

My car isn't together yet, but it will be inside of 2-3 weeks max. So I'll go ahead and ask now. Anyone coming from and/or passing through SW corner of Missouri? Me and a friend are coming from here, and if you are coming from Ok, Kan., or Ark., maybe we could get something organized. Never hurts to be prepared. May will be here before you know it. Can't wait to be there, I've never even seen another thirdgen with anything done to it besides the one I own, and the one I owned before it...and I'm not kidding. I'm excited about seeing all these thirdgen's!

How are you planning on going through Illinois I am in Peoria and am planning on meeting the caravan at Bennigan's if you want to meet up let me know

 

I-44 to I-55 North, which turns into I-57 up to Crete.

 

If you want to go to Bennigan's and hook up with that caravan I will meet you on 57 and go with you guys if ya don't mind

edit:I know Bennigan's is a little out of the way but its going to be cool going that last bit with a whole bunch of third gens

 

I'll definitely check into that. But currently I have to focus on getting my car going....lol. Heads still aren't here, Summit shorted me a piston, ughhhh what's next?

 

Btw, how many will be meeting at Bennigans? I didn't know there was a caravan even coming from there.

Alright, we definately have the interest to get the Caravan going so here is the plan:

So far, the people interested are okay with meeting at the Bennigan's parking lot by the Chicago Ridge Mall on the corner of 95th Street and Ridgeland Avenue in Chicago Ridge so that is where we will meet. Last year we had two meeting spots and we merged the two together, but so far I don't think anyone is interested in the Portillo's metting spot (127th and Cal Sag/Rt. 83). If people from around there want to meet there and don't want to come out to the Bennigan's one, then that will work and we will combine the two again. But until then, the meeting spot will be Bennigan's.

Since this thread is already a sticky, I would like anyone who will be meeting us to reply here so I can start getting everything organized. Third Gen Fest '04 starts at 11:00 am, so I would like to leave Bennigan's by 10:30 am. I want to make a list of everyone who wants to be a part of this that way no one will be left behind if they are late.

So if you plan on meeting at Bennigan's (or if you want to meet at Portillo's), post here and also PM me your cell phone number if you have one and I will PM you mine. That way if anyone is late, we can get in touch with them and no one will have to cruise there alone. Thanks guys.

 

As of now, we have six people meeting at Bennigan's. Thats just local people, we may join with a caravan coming from Wisconsin as well and I'm sure others will sign up too as the date approaches.

 

Yeah, I am heading up a caravan from WI, we definatly want to meet up with you guys in IL. Both groups rolling in together will be awesome. Hey MetalliCamaro, I'm gonna get in contact with ya about this...

 

Sorry guys, but I really don't want to drive to Chicago, just to come back down to Crete. Unless I am mistaken Chicago is North of Crete, since I'm coming from the South, that would be out of the way quite a bit. Correct me please if I'm wrong.

 

You are right. We are meeting about 30 minutes North of Crete. No big deal, I understand completely. The purpose of these threads was actually so people from the south could make a caravan if they want, that way no one is left out.

 

Indeed, unfortunately, noone has replied yet to my post about coming up I-44 to St. Louis, and up to Crete from there. Dunno where all of our southern guys are at.

 

The WI Caravan will be coming down on I94/894...

 

Ok I live in Raymond il which is 3 miles off I55. I have a 2 car garage if anyone needs some help with anything on the trip..
I would like to meet up with the guys from the south and head up.....

 

If anyone is coming up I-44 to I-55 going north can contact Gateway Camaro for their plans. Camaro Club of Central Illinois will also have members leaving from Springfield, IL and we hope to caravan with Gateway also. Several of the cars will be trailered but a lot of others will be driven. This will cover all 4 generations of Camaros.

Just so you know Third Gen Fest is a thirdgen only party. All other generations will be put in a separate section with any other non-thirdgens and I don't have much extra room. I really need to limit the number of non-thirdgen cars so I can get as many thirdgens in as possible.

 

Hey me and a friend live up here in Tremont, a little south of Peoria, where you Springfield boys meeting up? Same with you flrtin? Are you the only one from around here?

 

Only one I know of so far from here, I am planning on going to Bennigan's and meeting the caravan from the north there then going to denny's with them. If the guys from down south are going to do that also I will try to catch them on the way past. Let me know what your planning and maybe meet somewhere

I wotk for USA Tank, It is a storage tank company. I travel around the country and build storage silos and tanks. I know I will be home then but not sure exactly what day I will be in.

from what i saw on yahoo maps going all the way 55 to 57 put u north of crete. if u get off at monee il exit 335 crete isnt very far from there. so if any one wants to caravan all the way up 57 let me know.

Hey Badbowtie what time would you bie coming through the St. Louis area ? I live close to where interstates 270 & 55 south . I am going but would probably not be able top leave until 2 or later due to work .

 

We will probably be leaving around 8 or 9 in the morning on the Firday before. So that will put us through St. Louis around 12 or 1. If you were interested in rolling with us, we could probably arrange something.

 

I am still working out the details and trying to find out exactly when these 2 other guys I know are leaving.

if any one is coming from the south and traveling 57 north and want to meet in effinham il it is exit 159 on 57. there is a good place to meet there, 57 and 70 intersect here. i plan on being there by 7 am sat morn leave there by 7:30 or so that should put us in crete around 10 to 10:30 let me know.
