Milwaukee / Chicago Area
Just figured I would start up a place for anyone in Milwaukee or Chicago to meet up, I noticed a few people from around here are planning on going.

costill,
I though about that but I think it might get kinda difficult to meet up at certain times on that far of a trip, I would hate to get caught in traffic and make you guys wait for 2 hours, then all of us make the next group 2 hours late.... and so on.
There is a guy making a website for the meet, I was going to request that he put a map on it, we could put some common routes and meeting points along the way to make it easier on everyone. Just an idea.

check the ohio thread
robert suggested we all meet thurs night, and head out fri. morn. this way there would be no time delays and only 1 meeting point to be on time to.
plus its still on the way for you guys (I-80 or I90) i believe, even though you might have to use the ohio turnpike
just a thought...
plus im sure if we had a big group we could get a discount at a fleabag motel (i get discounts for super 8)

Well here is the tenative plan for my little group of people coming from Milwaukee. We will probably leave Thursday morning and drive how ever long it takes to make it to the OH/PA meet point in Youngstown on Thursday night. They plan on heading out Friday morning and driving till they get to the Camp Grounds. Anyone in Our area or on our way to Youngstown is more than welcome to meet up with us where ever it works for them.
Loomdog, you could be like the Forest Gump of the caravan, going from coast to coast with more people tagging along as you go. lol :lala:

yeah, we're looking at meeting you guys up here near youngstown on the night before the first day of the meet, we'll say thursday night. i just looked at streets and trips, and you're looking about an 8 hour drive to here.
we're going to leave early friday morning, and drive over to the harrisburg area. i'm still waiting on word from the pa guys as to where we're going to meet them at.

yeah thats about what I figured on, but 8 hours ???
you;ve obviouly never driven at convoy speed
when me and the guys would drive to the Michigan internatial Speedway (about 50 miles from detroit) we could go all the way from Milwaukee to there in about 4.5 hours. I think yahoo maps says thats about a 7 hour ride
Its amazing how fast you can move when you have a large group of cars and several radar detectors, scanners, cbs, and various other ways of beating the speed traps.
P.S. That same ride once took us almost 9 hours due to hitting every possible contruction area, rushour traffic, detour.....
