What is it going to run?
I bought this car last fall and now it is almost finished. All that is left is to mount the radiator, replace the seatbelts, have two panels made and replace the wheel studs with longer ones. The engine is a 468BBC, trans PG and rear 12bolt spool 4.56 gears. 850holley carb, Wieand stealth intake, iron factory pass heads with open chambers, 2.19 and 1.88 valves, 10.25 cr, forged pistons and crank, comp cams solid lift cam 236dur at .050 and .561lift. and crane roller rocker arms. Torque conv is rated 3200-3800 stall speed and tires are 14 X 32. Hven't weighed the car. Anyway ,take a guess, use a computer program or whatever. I should have the answer in a few weeks and will let you know. I am not using a transbrake and plan on just flooring it from 1500 rpm at the start and shifting from 1st to 2nd at 5500rpm.

Providing you can get the power to the ground it should probably run mid 9's. That's guessing around the 500 hp range and 2000 pounds. It's possible that it could run 8's but I really doubt it. That's not a very big cam for a 468.

I am only shooting for mid 10's. I wanted a cam that would give me a nice smooth idle. Also didn't want to worry about flycutting pistons. This was a budget buildup. I got the car with trans for $1500, am up to about $7500 now. Got stuff from closing machine shop, ebay, friends, etc. also jegs and summit know me well.
wow, if my car ran 9's... i dont think that i would call my cam "small" hehehe anyway... its always nice to see what the big boys are talkin about.... ill let u know when i get my 502 in.. then ill be here

times
Ran Saturday evening, 10.29 at 124mph, 60ft 1.40, 1/8th mile 6.40 at 105mph. I launched at 1200 rpm and shifted at 5200. Next week will try launching 1400rpm and shifting at 5800 rpm. Shifting at 5000 the shift light comes back on pretty fast and stays on all the way down the track. Went through lights about 6100rpm.

that stall converter should stall at like 3600, why not try launching at like 3200? that's what the high stall converter is for anyways.

I haven't drove the car enough to even know what rpm to launch at. I need some Wednesday night testing, but next time I run will probably be at megabucks and whenever bracketracing you want to try and run the same time every run. I am not sure what rpm the brakes would be able to hold. I just have the two rear drum brakes. I'll have to do a little test and maybe I will launch at 2000 or higher, I also have to make sure I don't run under a 10 second E.T. though, because the frame isn't certified and probably wouldn't certify even though it use to be a 8.30 ET car, and I don't have a competition license which is needed to run under 10.00. The car also hesitated a couple times when I launched. I am not sure if it is because of too much fuel too fast or not enough. Am going to change the squirters first. Of course with a higher rpm launch I may not have the hesitation problem anymore either.
