L.E.D. Christmas tree bulbs-who's run'em?
Feel'in good, our home track does'nt have a points race until May 31st cause of a previous rain out, so a bunch of us we to the NHRA track 50mi. south to get the itch takin care of
Anyways, came away with yet another victory:hail: ran last years points champion in the finals and put the whoopin's on him-pretty good race all in all, but this is only the second time at this track with the first time last year only getting 2 runs before I was black flagged cause my tranny was leakin fluid, so it felt good beatin the home town champ for the win. Back to the question, They were supposed to have the LED's on the tree but they did'nt come in on time so we ran the incadesant bulbs-excuse the spelling. How did you guys transition in your leaving by the bottom bulb?-still when it first flickers on, or wait until it's on-on? When I stage I just bump in until the stage lights come on and let go of the button when the bottom light first started to light-so if you've also staged like this what adjustments did you have to make to cut the same good R/T's as the old school lights. I will only run this track for fun, since it's a further than my home track-plus their NHRA nationals are in Colorado compared to my IHRA nationals in Cordova, IL.-3 hr drive instead of 2-3 days. Any input welcomed.

From my one pass yesterday, our track doesn't have LED yet. We're still using the .500 perfect light timing system.
Launching off the bottom bulb varys from driver to driver. I like to leave when it's at it's brightest. Others wait until it starts to go out. I can almost tell if I have a good light or not just by watching how bright the last yellow is when I let go of the button.
I did a conversion on a truck last week switching the incandescent lights to LED. I had one already swapped over and had the signal lights on. It's realy noticable when you watch an incandescent light up and go out. The LED is a square wave. On, Off. I know in Pomona it took a few rounds for the racers to get used to the LED lights. Many were red lighting.

My recommendation would be to do everything exactly the same, and adjust from there. Most likely, you won't need to do any adjusting.

five7kid, I remeber reading that post awhile back-did a quick search "quick" and it did'nt give me the answer I was lookin for. Thanks, I only plan on hitting this track evey once in awhile if ours is'nt running or if they have a big event so the pay out is bigger than normal so TT are kinda out down there, you only get 3 on race day so it'll have to be an extremely quick learning curve-just glad the car runs the way it does so I just have to worry bout the driver. Plus made the switch to leaving off a button, talk about different when your used to foot brakin your whole life, only had a handful of what I'd call good lights this year and now the points series is here, got 1 last TT at home track and if I can't get it done by then, gonna have to leave the switches in the off position and let the feet make the money again, hard to teach an ole dawg new tricks I guess
I am looking forward to the new tree to "mix it up a little" kinda like the fun races our track had last year when you made 3 passes-they took .10 off your best and that was your permanent dial, add the Pro-tree to the mix-loved it!! Definately took the manotony out of the every weekend racing. Just tryin to stay a step ahead and throw up a legitimate post
oh, how fast will I run on a LED tree opposed to the regular tree-mods are in the sig.:lala:

We only get 2 TT's here on raceday. My advice is still the same - do what you normally do, by the first round, you'll have it down close enough.
(My car's about .2-.3 faster this year. Must be the LED's...)

I can't wait, now i can step up and race the Pro class do there!!
Was only .10 away this past weekend, but if the LED's make the car that much faster, I'm a shoe in!!:lala:

Nice car Josh
Nice meeting you even if it was short lived. Looks to be a very nice car and All I got to say is thank you for beating the Jeep in eliminations. Hope you made out good. That Monte Carlo is one of those cars I beat I was quite happy for him and he seemed very pleased.

Only got $50, Kevin pushed me out in the semi's. Wish I would've stayed to get a full out pass as the car was definately loving the brisk air Sat. night. But, money is money and I'm finally feeling comfortable with leaving off the button-at our home track anyways-Anxious to see what I can put together on the 31st for our tracks first points race, stepping up a class, and I'm gunning for last years points champ 1st round, lots of over the winter ribbing between us on the CFR website, so we got a steak dinner just hanging in the balance until then. Yet another best Sat. night 1.776 60', did'nt get to runner through since it was elims. crossed at 13.004 @94mph and usually with a 13.00 I'm at 104mph so the car was lovin it, but my dail in did'nt.
