first time at the track today....

Well it was my first time running the car at the track... I must say it was a blast! But what do you guys think about the lo3 power ( yea right! )

1st run
rec - .785
60ft - 2.31
330 6.81
1/8 - 10.59@64.01mph
1000ft 13.81@75.02mph
1/4 - 16.372@83.83mph

2nd run
rec - .830 ( fell asleep hah )
60ft- 2.32
330 - 6.77
1/8 - 10.52@65.34mph
1000ft -13.751@75.32mph
1/4 - 16.309@82.75mph

Final/best run
rec. - .783
60ft - 2.30
330 - 6.77
1/8 - 10.51@64.46mph
1000ft - 13.72@75.06mph
1/4 - 16.28@82.44mph

I think it needs a good tune - its 91RS 305tbi/auto. open element/flowmaster muffler/stage 1 chip(gotta get rid of that chip)3.42gears/lca/phb and thats all. So what do you all think, slow as dirt - yes?

Sounds like someone else is hooked on drag racing

Like I always tell people. I bracket race and I admit watching a bracket race from the stands is boring. Even I don't want to watch two 12 second cars going down the track. But even if you have a 14 second car, it's a totally different story when you're behind the wheel.

Amen to that. It's an awesome rush.

That's why I probably won't be at the track this year---I sold my IROC in Jan!

That's pretty much what I ran when I was bone stock with nothing done at all.

I thought it was a little on the slow side.....but i guess it's a starting point huh? I'm pretty sure a custom tune would help out quite a bit. I don't know how much it matters, but my car wouldn't cool down, it was at 215-220 degrees the whole time? I drove it done there (30min drive) and let it sit for awhile....but I was thinking when I burned a new chip, I'll have the fan turn on sooner. I have a 170stat but it isn't doing much good because my fan doesn't turn on until 225ish.

With the single fan setup, the computer doesn't control the fan, the fan switch does. A good tip I like to do at the track is turn my ac on with the key in the run position while i'm in the staging lanes. The ac automatically turns the fans on, and when you're ready to go just flip it off just before your run.
