is my friend wrong?
i have a 85 sport coupe that weighs about 3000 pounds and it has pretty close to 300 hp and about 400 ft lbs of torque. My friend said that my car will run a 15 or 16 on the 1/4 mile with the mods in the signature. i havent ran it down the track yet but i hope its faster.........is he right?

The car weight alone means nothing since the engine also has to move the weight of the driver down the track. I doubt the car itself is down to 3000 pounds unless it's really gutted.
A closer minimum race weight would be more like 3300 with driver.
Unless you have some dyno numbers, 300 hp would have to be a complete guess. Most stock 350's only put out 200-250 to the rear wheels. Your mods don't add much to the hp level.
Providing you can get traction, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to get into the 13's.
The only way you'll know what it will run is to take it to a track and run it.
Weigh the car with driver and whatever you decide to take out of the car when you go down the track. Get a chassis dyno for the HP and I'll tell you what it will run.

wut i meant by 300 hp was an estimated guess from my mods. also i have a dyno software, but thats even more of a guess. o yea and the 300 hp i meant wasnt for RWHP. just to the flywheel. sorry for the confusion

Mid-low 14s if you have a good rear end. What rear end gears do you have?
