Not sure if it's in the movie section but take a look at this one. It was an expensive landing as you can see from the amount of sparks that came out from underneith.

It's interesting that the first picture shows wheelie bars and you can see that they're both bent right at the axle. I also wonder how the car managed to get onto the left rear tire when most of them roll to the right when they go up like that.

It was the big wheelie event at Byron, Actually I think that was the guy that won, even though he hit the wall...

When we were at our first divisonal and saw "twister" it was pretty impressive watching this car like like that. Well the next year it was still neat to watch, but then reality kicked in and wondered why he wants to leave like that. He spent more time that weekend working under the car replacing shocks then I spend under mine in a season. Never seen him go very many rounds in eliminations either?

This is mostly a test, trying to resize pictures. Was originally an 11 meg file. Small wheel stand.

Not fake by anymeans. Once guys tune their suspensions to shoot up ward instead of straight, depending if they wanna the entire car will lift off the ground just as the pic above shows it's a matter of how much go pedal they wanna give. I have multiple vid clips of cars doing this. Not something I wanna do to mine at this moment in time, but it would make for one heck of a phot op

Just think of how hard that thing come down from that high up...it's gotta leave a mark, lol. We decided to omit the first points race of the fall series to trek over to Byron just to watch these goof ***** tear up their stuff.

I can't see any wheelie bars on that car but yes they can get all 4 wheels off the ground. Chances are that one lifted so high that the rear bumper or rear of the car hit the ground. If there was enough upward movement, the rear tires will unload.

That's a common problem for cars with wheelie bars. If they hit the bars hard enough, they can unload the rear tires.

I know it's not a wheelie, but it'd make a badass t-shirt picture.

Of course, if you used any of these, you'd have to put our business name.

in general if you lift the wheels and you STAY into it, like dont get off the gas, you should land it pretty safely with out hopping or breaking anything ... BUT there are always some exceptions lol

LOL, I've been fortuneate enough to have a few guys that trust me and have gotten to make some shake down passes in some wild rides. The first time I piloted a real tire jerker it scared the living chit outta me and I ended up short shifting and then letting off-for some reason the guard rail seemed closer than it actually was

If your only pulling them 12-14" off the ground and the front end parts are all in good shape there's really nothing bad happening since like 89rskelly said, as long as you stay in it. The forward momentum takes alot of the shock out of it, not like your stationary picking the front end and then dropping it-aka the ole let the jack down at full tilt trick, lol.

Still an uncanny feeling though looking over the hood and seeing nothing but blue sky for a couple seconds.

10.90 street car, I checked out your site, what a difference the sway bar made. The photos show exagerated the body roll was. By chance are you running a bag/s out back with the sway bar? My new Ford 9" does'nt have provisions for the factory sway bar so I was thinking of leaving it under the bench for now and trying to tune with a bag. Lemme know as my new combo should be running around your times-just need some time to start swapping everything over.

The only time I know I get good air under the tires is when I feel the steering wheel jerk. That's when I know the tires have come down again. I don't think my wheels are in the air for any more than 5 feet down the track.

I've seen cars trip the 60' timers with the rear wheels.

Stephen,
If you install one of Ed Quay's steering dampers on your car the shimmy shake you feel when you land will go away. Since I installed one on mine it lands very soft. Very reasonably priced too.

Here's one from last year:

How about a stock motored, stock suspensioned car doing it in street trim!

Ok so it just got the tire to get off the ground, I found spinning them helps my car!

I agree, more!
