what will this setup run???

what will this setup run???

I have a 86 iroc w/ a 79 350 in it. the compresion is 9.5:1 it also has the ****ty 305 smogger heads. and a holley 600cfm 4bbl. i have a 125 shot of nitrous. The trans is a stock 700r4 w/ a 2500 stall. the rear is a 3.42's posi. there are no wieght reductions.

Stock exhaust? Normal street tires? Maybe high 14s/low 15s on the motor and high 13s/low 14s on the 125 shot.

it is 2.5 pipe off of the headers going to a victor muffler. the tires are normal 16" street tires goodyear eagle's.

I used to have the same thing only 9.3:1, recam it, bigger carb, LT headers and dual exhaust-SLICKS you'll run high-mid 13's NA then mid/low 12's on juice. Back then I was runing the Lunati Bracket Master II cam the 292/292 .480/.480 lift cam, either use a 750cfm carb or I was running a 830 DP.

As is depending on you altitude over there would think low 14's to low 15's

To follow up on IHI's post, I don't know what size the stock cam is in your engine but its likely pretty lame. A better cam, some decent cylinder heads and an intake could really wake that engine up.

You'd lose about half a point of compression if you switch to 64cc heads, but you can more than make up for it with the added flow.
