What do you think it'll run?

OK, I finally got the Camaro mostly finished up, just gotta do some fine tuning and stuff. I got like 5 people trying to get me to take it to the track before it closes up early next month and they are all goin Friday, so they want me to run it then. Here's the mods.

1982 Camaro Berlinetta 305/700R4 (swapped from 85 Berly)

- ACCEL plugs, 8mm SuperStock wires, Dist. cap/rotor button, and Brute Thunder Coil Pack
- Summit Racing Cam Lift .442/.465 Dur. 214/224
- Edelbrock Perfromer intake
- Carter 625cfm carb
- All A/C and smog removed. also removed A/C and heater box
- Hayden Flex Fan
- GM Vacuum Advance Dist.

Now, back when it was COMPLETELY bone stock and out of tune pretty badly, it ran a best of 10.37 but usually ran 10.5's/10.4's. So, with those mods, do you think it will hit the 9's? BTW, this is all in the 1/8th mile. The motor is pretty tight, not worn out at all really, seemed pretty fresh before i took it into the garage. Havent got to drive it any since but like I said, Im hopin for some 9's here. COnsidering Im getting the IROC andthe L98 will go faster, it will end up my project car.....BTW, what can I do with about $2000 to an L98 IROC? and how much will it cost to swap from the 700R4 to a T56? Anyways thanks for any help on both rides.

no i ran out of money That should be ocming up soon, just Im buying the IROC right now, so I had to push off the exhaust for a bit. I think Ill end up going with shorties and dual exhaust, kinda goin cheap but Id rather put my real nice exhaust work into the IROC, as I may end up selling the Berly.

I'd guess low 10 second pass. MAYBE a 9.9x if you launch very well. Get you a pair of Vortec heads, port them and add an itake manifold and a 650cfm carb (might as well get a heavier cam while you're at it). You should be in the low 13's on that easily.

Well, Im not going to go that far with this little 305...Id prefer to put more money into the IROC when/if I get it. But you dont think that cam made anyk ind of differance? and lightening the car up alot made any kind of differance? It does have that performer intake and the 625 cfm Carter carb. If I end up not getting the IROC< then Ill do exhaust thismonth. How much will thati mprove...Im looking for low 9's here. and BTW, what is low 13's in the 1/4 translate to in the 1/8th? low 8's? mid 7's? just curious.

I ran a 8.907 at 77 in the 1/8 and thru the quarter at 14.02 at 96.

so mid 8's would be solid mid low 13's

yeah, also with those adjustable shocks, springs, gutted airbox/ and full exhaust system. Those are important too. The exhaust is my only power adders.
