Can I run low-13's with this combo???

I have an 84 TA with the Goodwrench 350, 700R4, 3.73 posi rear. Chevy High Performance did a buildup on this motor about 5 years ago and got some amazing results. I recently acquired a perfect set of Vortec heads for $50. Im planning on going with the Vortec heads, a Comp XE262 cam, 2500 converter, and headers to go with my 3" Flowmaster catback. I was wondering if this combo would go low 13's? Ive heard of similar combos getting into the 12's in a thirdgen. How realistic is this. By the way, this car would be run at 600ft above sea level. THX

with great suspension and slicks, you might be close

i would go a step up on the cam to a xe268 maybe and alittle more stall. around 2800 or so. should get you in the mid 13's at least.

what intake you using?

I will be using the GM Performance spreadbore intake for Vortec heads. It also comes with EGR provisions.

Go with the XE274. You would be building a vortec headed 350, there are a few people on here running in the 11's with them N/A (Pony Killer) and several people running in the 12's. Mine's best last season was 12.28 @ 111.85 before my valvesprings went away and mid 11's on a small shot of nitrous. Just make sure to keep the compression up if you go with the XE274.

Its not a bad setup , Traction becomes a bit of an issue...the XE274 is a nice cam choice.

You should be able to get close

My 88 camaro with a 355 with 462 double hump heads, 10.18:1, crane 272/284* cam, edelbrock performer and 600 cfm carb

th-400, 2800 stall, 3.42 gears with powertrax locker

Runs 12.80's-12.90's @ 118 MPH (no traction), with good traction the MPH shows I could be in the 11.40's
