how fast?

i have been debating for the past month whether i should sell my 84 trans am or keep it and dump more money into it. i started to put more money into and bought a built 700ra tranny and a built 10 bolt rear. i have about 7000 to put into the car if i wanted to. do you think i would be able to get my car into the low 11's or high 10's with 7000. if so what kind of setup would get me the times i want. i have the tranny and rear already i would really need just suspension and engine.

You can build a sweet 383 and pack a nitrous system on top with less than 7 grand. My entire build is running right @ 10 g's and that's with a new paint job and a racing tranny. I'm shooting for mid 11's and then a year or two later a turbo. That should make it bite!

Don't forget well your spening that money that ''built'' 10 bolt you bought will not hold up to 10 sec runs ! i don't care what anybody says . You lanch hard your rear tires are not going to make it past the staging lines.

There are a few members on this forum with 10 second 10-bolt cars.

After getting the new engine dropped in, I'm gonna run a 10 bolt for as long as I can until it craps. I'll just have to launch slowly. I'm guessing that a 3 sec 60' would help the rear last a bit longer...but yeah, I don't expect it to last too long.
