and its damn near 100lbs lighter this year, with the tubular front end, and i personally lost about 30lbs since last year.
i've also changed transmissions from a tremec TKO II to a tremec 600
getting a 2.87 1st gear instead of the 3.27 it had before......
so the car should run quicker and faster, but it seems to need a good flogging/tuning on the dyno, as its best this season is 11.94
but it was only at 115mph, so its running quick with less mph than before, which shows the weight loss (as does the air under the tires lol....so once i get it tuned up and making power again, 119-120mph traps should be where its at....hopefully 11.7 if not better then

Nice launch, glad to see the tubular stuff is working for someone. I had the opposite effect happen, here's me with the tubular front end(best 60ft 1.55 pumpgas)

And here's w/the stock stuff back in(new best 60ft 1.51 pumpgas and 100# heavier)

Same tires and everything
Anyhow, nice pic

Steve

thats funny how you pull the wheels with a 100 pounds of exta weight in the front? you would think it would have just pulled them a lil higher with the new K-member.

with the 2.87 1st it seems to want to be launched around 5100.....
the variance is depending on track conditions (prep quality)
i used a 2-step so its consistant from pass to pass.
of course the motor has alot to do with it as well, i make peak power at about 6600 rpm.
i have a nasty stumble coming off the tree right now just after the launch, so i gotta tune that out and get it to run should be in the 1.5x area after that i would assume....best this year was 1.65 with the stumble....last year running mint was 1.64

I know this is a old thread, but I wanted to show a pic. of my car. I'm also using southside machine lift bars with a Tremec TKO. 3.27 first gear and a 9 inch with 4.11. The rest of the suspension is all stock. best run to date is 11.29 at 119.78 I'm also looking for advice on what shocks and strut changes I should make. Best 60' is 1.58 the car will now be a track only car.

I dont understand whats the hell is wrong with my car at all. i have a 355 13.5 compression all the good stuff and i cant get mine to run your guys times. i hvae the south side rear in mine as well with 4.30's, th350 a lot of the same stuff as you guys but mine jsut sucks ***. the best time i have gotten so far is 11.82 the motor is supposed to be making 600 h.p. but its sure not showing those numbers. i have the stock suspension up front spohn control arms and panhard bar 50/50 rear shocks for the rear. i just dont get it, but i am glad your cars are running so good keep it up.

on 150 wet shot with an NOS or NX kit....rule of thumb is you pick up a full second in the 1/8th!
I know my buddy runs mid/high 13's in the 1/4 in his 04 GT and on the 100 wet shot, he runs mid 12's all day long...in the 1/8th he runs 8.6's N/A. on 100 shot he runs 7.8's/7.9's. His car is a freak for osme reason. I think if he sprayed 150 wet shot he'd run 7.5's/7.6's easily...course he powershifts and launches pretty hard on his ET Streets. I got him teaching me the tricks in powershifting...Im teaching him how to launch

Toat them wheels man. I'm hoping to toat my wheels one day and still be able to drive it home when I'm done racing. Maybe next year with more tuning.

My suspension is untouched. All completely as-is from the factory minus the sway bars. No frame connectors or rollbar... I can't believe it hooks hard enough to pull a wheel off the ground with a light burnout on the 27x10.5 QTP's @ 20psi

I figure I'll run into traction problems long before I twist anything... I'm a bit silly I suppose though. If I twisted the chassis on my car I'd probably be proud.

yeah good luck getting your doors to close back after a few more launches like that with no sfc's or roll cage..
This may be my last wheels up launch. Im building an sb2.2 headed motor and thinking about putting wheelie bars on it. And that pass was my best 9.97
