shift rpm????
kinda have a question for all you racers out there. what rpm's are you guys shifting at? im trying to get the best time i can at the track, were does a stock lt1 run out of power. i have adjustable fuel reg,lt4 rr's, smog delete, 373, headman shorties with 3 inch all the way back.throttle bypass, and what do you guys guess on my track time? its a 95 lt1 in my 3300lb 92 camaro. and is there anything that i can do to get a few more ponies out of it before i go to the track. i am using a 700r4 with tci lock up kit. no shift kit but corvette 1to2 servo

I would suggest shifting at 5500 to 6000 rpm the lt1 should run all the way up to that. I shift at 5500 and thats with my carbed 305.

I put my car on a dyno took a look at the graph of where the power was being made. In my case I have my 700R4 shifting at 6000rpm on the 1-2 shift and 5600rpm on the 2-3 shift. Trying to get the most power under the curve.
The reason the 1-2 shift is at 6000rpm is the low gear ratio of 1st gear. There is a big drop in the ratio from first to second gear.

LT1's usually dyno peak horsepower in the 5000-5500 rpm range. this one guys 96 TA put down 277rwhp bone stock at 5250rpms or so. the torque curve is very flat up till about 4800rpms where it starts to fall. the hp curve rises quickly and peaks at 5200rpms or so and stays relatively constant thru 5700rpms.
with that, i woudl try shifting 5500-5600rpms. see how that works.
