Race heads ???

I have a 388 with world products sportsman heads. I have been running 10s for a while on the bottle. I want to get nitrous pistons and heads. My goal is to get into the 9s.

Whats 23 degree heads do you recomend?

I want do go as fast as possible?

My current heads are mildly ported. Should just get them fully ported?

Thanks

how much of a shot? what's your combo, cam specs, etc. what size stall? all this on a 700R4 trans? Gearing, etc? Are you running high 10s now and expect more nitrous to get you high 9s? your question is VERY vague, need a ton more info.

For what you want, look seriously at AFR 215cc raised runner heads with competition porting from the factory. You will have to run offset rocekrs/lifters, but to get the flow you need from a 23* head, that is the only option you realistically have with going 18*. One of the dowfalls of juice, getting that first 1 full second faster is the easy part, trying to get it faster than that and it becomes more difficult. Even if you hit a 250 shot with what you have, chances are you wont pick up much more than you've already got.

All my juice buddies explained it like this, it took 150 shot to get 1 second faster, to get it 2 seconds faster you will need at least a 300 or more shot-doubling shot to double the et gain. and from what I've seen this seems to hold pretty true. So starting off with a good motor runnign quickly by itself and your winning the battle from the get go.

For the nitrous use, considering a camshaft with a wider 113-114 LSA, than your current 110, would not be a bad idea, IMO.

Glad to hear it's working for you!! I've been really impressed with since since bolting it in last year, but since my racing involves consistency and tracks get slimey in the summer, I'm going to try out a longer tq arm again when the car comes back out. I plan on more power N/A than what I had along with some juice shots and I feel with whatI have/had it was really pushing things to the limit for traction. Hopefully the longer tq arm will transfer more of the power into the chasis and take a load off the tires so when track goes away, traction stays

we went to a 1/8 mile track last weekend and i was the only one not hooking. 700r4 first gear, short torque arm, n2o, combined was over whelming the tires. But when the track is good its alot of fun.

Hey slow86, is that 60' in your sig, with or without the shorter torque arm? I was considering one. My best 60' is 1.57 with the stock arm.

Slow are you still using the 1 5/8 long tubes and slow master muffs?
