Estimate ET, please

I ran a 13.7 last year with a stock L98 with a BBK afpr, Holley air foil, 2200 stall and Hedman Long tubes with a 9 bolt and 2.77 gears and 225/50zr16 Kumho 711. I have since built a 355, 10.5:1, .544/.569 cam, fully ported and bowl blended L98 heads with 2.02/1.60 valves, 1.6 roller rockers, same headers and stall(I know it is a little small for the cam, but ran out of money), 3.27 gears, Holley strip Dominator, 750 mech. sec. holley, Hoosier slicks, Hotchkis subframe connectors, and 6 point cage. I have also removed all the wiring harnness, most of the interior, moved the battery to the back above the right rear, and removed all the cruise control and etc. Last year it weighed 3375 with me in it. I dont know if I have pulled much out of it since I added the cage and subframe connectors. I hope someone could estimate a close ET. I am going to Edgewater on saturday and I will post actual times. Thanks for any help.

I am going sat. As for hp. I know I have read several articles where they build very similar motors and have made anywhere from 375-475 hp. None of them use as big of a cam or as much compression but they all have used either L98 heads or vortec heads. I know the vortecs make a whole ot more power, but I was hoping for faster then a 12.8. Who knows.

with a 2200 stall your launches must be pretty slow...any bog?, so i'm thinking 12.8 at best. Sorry just my opinion, I'd imagine .4-.5 off those times with a 3500-3800 stall. I'm running a 3600 behind my motor and wish I went a little bigger.

Yeah it was in front of my tpi amd we rushed to get this done. I have a turbo motor waitng to go in with a th400 and I did not want to buy another stall when I am just going to throw out the 700r4 when I am done with it. It might bog a little off of the line but I dont think much. I think the converter will flash to 2500-2600 and the cam and intake are listed from 3200-6800 range. Your opnion is probably really close, but you know how hopes are.

You should be able to get into the 12's but those gears are killing you. I wouldn't worry about the hedman LT's, I didn't gain much switching to the Hooker LT's even with my combo.

There's always more you can pull out. My car has a BBC with a heavy Dart Big M block, full 12 point cage and race weight is still under 3100 pounds. I'm guessing I'm about 180 pounds.

It's all the nickle and dime stuff you need to look at. From the sounds of it, you have a track only car so stuff required for street use isn't needed.

Cut the crash bars out of the doors. Remove the front and rear bumpers. An empty gas tank weighs 25 pounds. A plastic or aluminum fuel cell is a lot less. Everything under the dash can go. All that plastic adds up. Convert to manual steering. Lightweight rims and tires. Steel belted street tires are heavy compared to race tires.

It is not a track only car. But I have removed the rear bumper all the wiring, and most of the non-needed stuff.

Well, we are off to Edgewater in the morning. I will post my times either tomorrow night or sometime sunday. We have had a hell of a time getting this thing lined out, but it is ready. Just have to do an oil change and load it on the trailer. Wish me luck.

Well, we made it to Edgewater on sat. and I have to say it was one of the worst nights of my life. I still did not get the carb. lined out so it studdered off of the line so bad I had to lift and get back into it. Plus on the very first run my accelerator cable casing split, so all night I got was 3/4 throttle. We tried to fix it but no good. My best run was a 14.2. But, I was trapping at anywhere from 103-108 mph, so there was some power being put down. I cannot remember who said 12.8 would be close but I did not get anywhere close. Sorry for all the hype. I have retired the car for the year and getting it ready for the turbo motor. Hopefully mid-9s by spring. Wish me luck.

Forgot to add I weighed the car. Last year it weighed 3350 with me in it in stock trim. Now, with SFR and a 6 point cage it weighes 3320, so I took out more then I put back in.

Thats bad news man. How many runs did Edgewater let you get in? My mechanic was dying to take his Regal there on Friday but couldn't make it, if we can actually get runs in when they have events that'll be awesome, I guess we should've asked before now. Did they charge you the regular 15 they do on test and tune night?

lol....well I said 12.8, guess I over shot that idea and should have said low 14s. Sorry to hear about your bad luck....although a 108 mph is good for a 12.8 easily.

They did not let me test and tune on sat. I paid 20 bucks for 5 passes in trophy class.
