It's been done many times but I'm curious as to how my car will perform after certain mods. Right now the motor goes as follows:
357ci - bored .040 over, flat top pistons, 10:1 c/r, 1.5 rockers, 650cfm double pumper, torker 2 intake, Torker cam (232/234 @ .050 .488/.488 108 LSA), Ported & 2.02/1.60 '67 Nova heads (I think they are 468 heads), 700r4 built to handle lots of power, 2200 converter, 2.73 open rear (I know it sucks). What do you think that combo would run? It needs tuning right now as it's running so rich it burns my eyes when I lay into it. In the future the car will be getting a Super T10 trans and built rear with either 3.42's or 3.73's. What would it run with the trans and rear swap? I know it needs new heads so I'll prolly do a 274H cam along with the heads. I was thinking either Trickflow's or Edelbrock Vic Jr's. Let me know your thoughts guys...

mid to low 14 need stall heads cam gears
That's pretty crappy
New parts:
Edelbrock Vic Jr 215cc
RPM Air Gap Intake
XE274H
Super T10 4 speed
3.42's or 3.73's
Any better choices for cam? It will be stroked to 385ci as well but for now the motor will pretty much stay put. The trans and rear however will be swapped as soon as I can get the time.

XE282 or more. You need a lot more cam to feed those heads.Originally Posted by Demon355

I'm debating Edelbrock Performer RPM's now that I've found out that I can get them alot cheaper then most people. Using the XE274H with the RPM heads still too small?

RPM heads flow less than stock vortec heads
As that may be true (I checked the CHP flow bench data and they flow pretty well), I can still get them for a decent price so in my eyes they are the best bang for the buck so to speak. With the heads, cam and intake swapped along with the new trans and rear, I'm sure it will be a hella fun car to drive. I don't need a low 11 second monster but being in the 12's and maybe the 11's with spray is more then enough for me.
Being that I will be using the RPM heads, do you guys still recommend the XE274 cam? I know desktop dyno is a crock of ****, but it still makes me smile to see those high numbers
