Re: Anybody seen this stuff
few of those ls1 guys have been running good numbers with them, although only 1 person has reported back after a year, stating he had no issues, haven't seen a long term test with them on the street.

They only list the kits for 4th gens. Any reason it wouldn't work for us?

Well after further review....forget it!
It would bind up the system on cornering.

They make it sound streetable. How did you come to the binding conclusion?

Re: Anybody seen this stuff
Well, just thinking about it, if the top of each side (of the housing) is connected to the lower arm, when one side of the body is lifted, the other side is going to try and lift too. Hence, great for straight maybe, but not for cornering. If you can invision the front of the control arm is going up when the body lifts, that would cause the axle to try and twist, thereby lifting the other side.

I figured the Heim joints would take care of any possible binding.

I don't frequent the Suspension forum that often, I'll have to admit.
I didn't see anything in that other thread other than hearsay about why they wouldn't work, while the people that had seen it used said it worked great. So, who you gonna believe?

Re: Anybody seen this stuff
I wouldnt see why it wouldnt work, 4th gen rear suspension is the same as 3rd gens.

I agree their ladder bars would fit on a 3rd gen, even though they only list them for '93-'02. The discussion in the other thread was whether they would work (i.e., too short to properly transfer force/weight). People were making bold statements against them without any experience with the setup at all. I disagree with their premises, and one person has first-hand experience with them that they do work as advertised. Then right after his testimony somebody else joins the chorus with the first two saying they won't work!
The discussion in this thread was whether they would bind. Since the upper link is free to move in the body "twist" directions, it isn't going to bind. The lower link is no different than a stock link, except it is more rigid to twist, but still no different than boxed or aftermarket round or square tubing, used by many, many members here, with no reports of such problems. So, I don't see how they would cause binding on the street (corners).
The torque arm does one thing well - keeping the rear from rotating under torque. It stinks at everything else.

Re: Anybody seen this stuff
OK...picture this...
Place a rear end with a 3-point ladder bar setup on the ground, have someone stand on the front of the left bar, now try to lift the front of the right bar....what happens?
You won't be able to lift the right front without twisting the rear housing.
