maybe someone can lead me in the right direction here. my car cuts out right before the traps right around the 6500 rpm range. the motor is a 385ci. 13 to 1 compression, dart heads, a single plane intake. also it has a msd 7al, pro billet distributor, ive changed timing and it doesnt matter. it has a holley 750 with a race main body. just ordered a quick fuel 850. the darn thing acts like it runs out of fuel, or hits a rev limiter. i took the chip out of the box and it still did it. anybody run into this or have a similar issue.

I'd say out of fuel. new carb will tell

I did think a 750 my be a little small. what times and mph you running

high 10's low 11's anywhere from 121 to 125

nice times all my friends that run in ten's have at least an 850 or bigger with less cubes than you

i just finished putting the 850 on it. now all ill have to do is hopefully dial it in

has it always done it, or just progressively getting worse? If progressively getting worse, I would look at valve springs. If it has always done it I would start looking at carb, and also what are you running for a scoop? Is it possible you are running into air turbulence issues, where it is trying to pull fuel out of the carb?

thanks for the advice. i thought about adding a scoop. it only started doing it after i changed to a 4.11 gear. it didnt do it before that because i wasn't winding it out going through the traps. i put a new quick fuel 850 on it yesterday, so ill see if anything changes tonight.

what does the rest of the fuel system look like? running a sumped tank and a good quality pump, or what?

sumped tank. magnafuel 300 pump -8 line to regulator and -8 line to carb.

put a quick fuel 850 on it. right out of the box it ran great, no problems whatsoever. ran strong 10.90's all night and i havent even touched it yet. thanks for all the help.
