Data Acquisition

Does anyone use Computech Systems DataMaxx Data Logger? Any others that you reccommend over that one?

Re: Data Acquisition

I use an Innovate LM2. There are far better data loggers available that have a lot more inputs but the LM2 logs everything I want to know.

Re: Data Acquisition

my poor mans datalogger is a digital camera pointed at my gauges and hitting record for a run. Bought an older nikon 4mp camera for $12 off ebay and have been using that to watch oil pressure/tach/wideband, etc

Re: Data Acquisition

Part of the fun for me is the electrical part of the build. Data Logging has always been something I think can be very valuable. I plan to log, among other things, engine RPM, Driveshaft RPM, two O2 sensors, 8 EGts, manifold pressure, throttle position, trans brake release, shift, oil pressure, crankcase pressure. Maybe trans line psi and someday maybe shock travel.

The Auto Xray device is a OBDII scanner that looks at the same parameters/sensors as the OEM ECM. Not the same as Data logging for a race car, no ECM, no OBD.

Re: Data Acquisition

check out these guys too, they seems to be reasonably priced. everyone i've talked to said they're happy with the setup and it's very expandable.

Re: Data Acquisition

I have an LM-2 and use it on our S10. But I've have some trouble with logging to a laptop and customer support is rather slow. Also, I was wanting something for a permanent install and a bit more robust than the Innovate stuff. I know the LM_2 can be a permanent install, but not impressed with the hardware.
