Re: My new bbc combo thoughts
so a long rod 427 with some bore, why not use the 4 inch arm for some more torque? 11 to 1 compression, I assume its gonna be a street beater and torque is king. Super victor is also gonna kill alot of torque, I would use a victor R, or the new wieand team g if using a single plane but lloking at your combo I`m thinking if it were me I`d be doing a dual plane intake...how much does the car weigh, what gear and what tire size, that would help paint the picture a bit more..application as well, street??

Re: My new bbc combo thoughts
430ci - short stroke w/ a very long rod, going to have an overly long dwell time, thus making it very octane & timing sensitive. The smaller heads & cam will help some in maintaining low-end torque.

I don't run over a 6.385 rod with under a 4" stroke, and we do a lot of short stroke combos.

Re: My new bbc combo thoughts
Copper rad or alum? A 4-row copper won't do what a stock 2-row alum does.

Re: My new bbc combo thoughts
go to aluminum rad, 4 core. aluminum dissipates heat better than copper

Re: My new bbc combo thoughts
My 15:1 motor could be left running on the jegs 2-row aluminum w/ a CSI electric wp & single 16" elec fan and never see over 180*.

As Matt noted, put a decent aluminum radiator in and go from there. Copper is considerably less efficient than aluminum; I had a four row copper that wouldn't keep up with my 11:1 street small block.
