I have been searching for Vortec TPI 1/4 mile results and haven't found many. Anyone here have #'s from an L98 with vortec heads and TPI?

I would only expect maybe 2-3 tenths gain just doing a head and intake base swap. To get full advantage from it you would need a tune. Mostly to tweak the fueling and timing. However it wouldn't require one to run. Especially if you have a AFPR and a wideband or the abilty to read the o2 @ WOT.

What was involved in installing and tuning your stealth ram? Did you run the stock ECU?

Stock ECU, ARAP bin as a base, but we used the impala SS timing table. Adjusted for the 30# injectors, and started to play with the PE. I have a wideband on the car, Idle was a little rich, but WOT was stoich.

I probably could have gotten there with more tuning, and gears. The car felt like it had more in it, but I came into some extra cash and went for the AFR's. Next purchase will be a rear. With the 28's and 3.27 I was going through the traps @ 5300 in third.

Re: Vortec TPI Results

.6 you could have picked up with tuning? I really doubt that, don't see any tpi car making power upstairs like a single plane intake.

Re: Vortec TPI Results

It's not just tuning, the car went through the traps @5300 in third. It still has the 3.27 rear and I run 28" tall tires, it needs more gear. The car also has a HSR, not tpi on top.

Re: Vortec TPI Results

60' was only 1.8 too, never could get any better. Once I make my mind up on what transmission is going to go into the car it will get a better converter.
