I havent been to the track yet this season because I live in the midwest, but the last time I went to the track my car stalled after the run. As soon as I let my foot off the gas the car sputtered a few times and then shut off. It started right back up in the turnoff and I drove it back, but Im curious if this indicates a fuel starvation problem or just something that is normal. I have a the stock TBI pump with a mallory regulator.

check your tps, when they start to wear out they can have dead spots that will stall the car when you go past them too fast.

eventually you will need a real fuel pump. going from a high pressure low volume pump to a lower pressure high volume pump will help. if you are getting on the brakes from a high speed run, fuel will slosh forward away from the metering block (jets) and will artificially raise the float & cut fuel to the float bowl. (holleys are more suceptible to this but most carbs suffer from the same malady) raise the floats a little, but that's about all you can do short of an updated fuel system or adding a dashpot.
