i'm looking at a fuel system upgrade this winter. My car is stock up frt and I've got the cell in the rear right now. Anyone mount the cell in the frt. on a stock frt. suspension car? I'm on race gas so I have a full size radiator.

 

i put a 1 gallon cell in the stock battery location. pump is inside the cell with a regulator mounted on the side. it feeds a pair of dead head regulators on the engine- one for each stage.

i have a 4 gal front mount cell. just a question, why go front mount if you dont need to. i run alky and a belt drive pump, so i have a front cell.

 

Why?? Why not?? Fuel system needs upgrading and lines replaced. Alcohol might be a future option.

I have a 4 gallon cell mounted up front with a belt driven alky pump also. I don't have much of a rad support. Most of it has been cut out and a tiny rad for a Pontiac Firefly sits off to one side and the fuel cell sits on the other. Running alcohol, I don't need a huge rad and most of the time, the fan is turned off.

Technically you could cut out the battery tray and extend a 4 gallon cell down into the wheel well.

 

so there looks to be room to mount a 4 gallon cell without cutting up the radiator support? you have a brand / part # for this piece?

I assume you drill and install the bulkhead fittings where you want? I would gravity feed to a cam driven pump and this seems to make more sense that sucking fuel from the stock tank..

 

yes it can be done. you will not be able to use the factory crash bar. i made a new one out of round bar that bolts to the factory holes. its just a plastic JAZ 4 gal fuel cell. you can drill and install a bulk head anywhere you like. as mine sits they are facing the front.i know thats a big no no but i top off my cell after every pass. the car has been 1.29 60ft and 9.31 with out any issues. also keep in mind that it will block about 1/3 of your rad. so if you are running gas you may run a little on the hot side. heres all the pics i have. http://s54.photobucket.com/user/heav...?sort=3&page=1

Kwik, i'm a little surprised to see your car still has a power steering box on it. a manual box is about 10lbs lighter.

these baby radiator setups have my interest peaked for sure

 

I have been looking around for a manual box, but haven't been searching real hard yet, but trust me it is on the horizon.

The only reason I am getting away with the baby radiator is because I don't drive it on the street, and am running alcohol. I tried it last year while still on gas and it was working overtime trying to keep up. Typically it would take about 10 minutes in the pits with the pump and fan running to cool it back down. If I hadn't changed over to alcohol I was going to try a dual core of the same size.
