I'm not trying to get in front of the other guy, but could you find out if it was a L69 car. If he didn't want it I might be interested if it has the right rear end. Was there a driveline, crossmember, and other stuff for a auto to manual swap. Any info would be helpful.

We couldn't find the build sheet inside anywhere, so we don't know what the gears, possibly L69 Z28 5.0L w/MM5 tranny option.

I'd have to ask Mark about this or call the guy to find out. I'll keep you posted.

I got a hold of my friend, he's getting me the VIN # tomorrow. I will be seeing him in person tomorrow night at an All Camaro Show in Portland, if you have more questions for me, shot them off. The tranny that was in there was a MM5, used for another project of his.

Hey,kid, the guy is really nice. I'm sure he'd hold it for you. As long as he knows you'll get the money, he should be fine with the deal. He was flipping over happy I got 2 bites already for him!

Got the Specs!

"Here are the specifics on the Camaro. After de-coding the Vin # we have discovered it is a 1983 Z28. The # is 1G1AP8770DL156201. The tag is rusty and hard to read, the "A" might be an "F". It comes with a bill of sale, no title. It has the rear end. It did have a H.O. 305 V8 with a 5 speed, but the engine and trans are gone. It was built in Van Nuys, CA. Let me know if you need more information."

This is the message I just got from the people who have it. I will e-mail her back to see about holding it for you. How much longer before you have the funds for it?

Edit: Here's the message I just recieved from the gal where it's at @ 13:30pm: "I would feel more comfortable holding it for him, if he at least came up and looked the car over to be sure he wants it. He could put a little down on it and we'll hold it. I can take some digital photos if that would help."

Cool, I just talked to them tonight and they'd hold it for you, even if you could put some money down on it, doesn't have to be the full amount. They're getting me digital pics in the morning.

Hey, are you still interested?

The car is still available, the owner has put several for sale ads in the local paper this one too, but gives a better discription of the car here which I will paste into this message.

He really needs to know one way or the other, so please reply back ASAP!

Edited for additional discription: The car is an 83 Z / 28. (Was a 305 H.O. w/ 5 spd ). Pedals still there, trans x member is Not. Car was an A/C car W/ cruise control. I do not see a drive line. The car has rollers for wheels & tires (non matching wheels w/ junk tires). The brakes still work well. The body panels are very straight (except small crease in rt front fender between wheel & door. Front bumper cover is good. Lower spoiler is broken that attaches to front bumper cover. Rear bumper cover has a scuff on corner butt not through the plastic. Tail lights are good. All glass is good except for W/S (need new one). Paint is dull. Some chips in drivers door but I don't think there are dents. Has rear spoiler (3 piece style) Has exhaust complete w/ exhaust manifolds. Radiator & fan shroud are there. Has dark charcoal interior. No seats ( saving for another project). Dash is there w/ gauges. No radio.

THE CAR CAN BE VIEWED SAT AM OR SUNDAY W/ APPOINTMENT. or an eve week days. Call 503-829-8488 days till 7pm or 503-824-2438 eves or weekends. We have plans sat afternoon & eve. so call before. We are placing other car for sale ads. And are holding off on this one waiting on the interested party(s) making a decision one way or the other. So please be prompt.
