Chip Burning
Hey Everyone,
I don't get a chance to post on this board too much as I am pretty busy but I want to know if anyone here in the Western WA area is into burning proms. I have my own burner, a laptop, and pretty much everything I need, but I am going to need a little help with it... any takers??
Thanks

Hey Kevin.
The only one in the crew that I am aware of that are burning their own chips is Ben (BenDoe91z28).
You might try to PM him. He is a real nice guy and is always offering to help anyone who is getting into this.
You should venture over to the CC site sometime. There are several other people up in the Bremerton/Seattle area.

You must read Traxions article to burning chips at part throttle. I burn my own chips but have not done so in a while. bussy with other things. Anyway, to get the proper tune you need your blms to range close as possible in the 128 range. Once you have that, then you can start messing with the timming curve, and PE or WOT tunning. good luck! And make sure you read the intro article, a lot of good info there!

I've read Traxion's article SEVERAL times, even have it printed out both at home and at work so I can read it just about anytime I want to, but still have to I guess get a shot in the arm with getting started. I bought the Lakner's Eepromer 4 which does not yet support the chip that I want to burn, the 29C040A which will hold up to 32 different BINS and I can switch between them using a remote rotary switch that I bought from Craig Moates, but I'm still a little bit leery. I don't know, maybe it's stage fright.... lol.
Thanks for the responses, and look forward to meeting any of you in the near future. For those of you who don't know, I'm on the USS Carl Vinson with Duffster.

tell Duffster & Woddy MMC I said HI!
as far as the chip, do one bin at a time. start from the Arpa bin, I think it is the stock 90-92 7730 bin. Make changes to the bin according to the BLM's and the need's of your engine. once you get the blm's workig fine, then change the timming, PE, etc. You can cut and paste different timming curves into different bins, save changes, ect.... Instead of doing that, I just decreased the timming curves where i was getting knock counts, then increasing the timming where i was not seeing the counts. This is in part throttle, then i moved on to the Power Enrichement after i got the timming curve close. Hope this helped?
