******Gathering Post******

Ok guys and girls, I think its time we get some stuff figured out with the next gathering. Because if we wanna have it in January we better start getting planning worked out!

Here are my suggestions, let me know what will work for you guys, input, whatever. Since we are still in the early planning stages it should be easy to do something that will work for everyone that can make it.

Time - 2nd or 3rd weekend of January.. (friday-sunday?) since its a little after the holidays everyone should be back home, and maybe have some money still left over.

Place - Vancouver/Portland? Im about 5 hours from PDX, but, I went there for my first Crew gathering in 99 and I wont hesitate to make the trip again.

Stuff to do - Obviously, alot of this depends on the weather, and we might have to change outdoor related plans at fairly short notice. If we get enough people to participate, I think a Dyno day would be awesome, I dont know about you guys, but Im always wondering about what exactly I am putting out to the tires.

Cruise? There are tons of places to go around that area for a scenic cruise type of thing. I dont know, Im not from the area, so you local people would know more than I.

So, what do you guys think?!

Well, I better get going, the power is flickering again!

I agree with Joe, and for cruising there's plenty of places. down along the gorge on 14 some nice drives (Although in januarary it may be a bit snowy around kennewick and well pretty much east after that) and up to Cougar (again probably very snowy) but there's sitll lots of places. small mountains all kinds of places. quite a few of us are from the portland vancouver area so we can get together and look into dyno's or other things probably.

I wouldn't mind Vancouver too much. I'd rather not go to Portland. I have a G-tech, so a dyno wouldn't really interest me. A skidpad however would interest me. But then, it's January. What are the chances of getting nice dry weather? I'm not sure exactly which weekend will work yet. One of those I will inevitably be on a tank somewhere in Yakima.

I would probably be up to attending where ever, but unfortunately don't have time to help organize. Things are pretty hectic right now.

Alright, John has some good ideas of places to cruise.. anything scenic, laid back with fellow CC members is cool with me.

As far as the dyno, If we can get enough interest for them to give us a cheap rate, then cool, if not, then oh well.

Who all besides John, Dewey and Lance are in the area? (Stephanie but shes dropped off the face of the earth)

Ok, right by my place, is the columbia gorge highway, VERY nice cruise place, goes along by all the waterfalls, like i said, i can handle a few people at my place for sleeping and such, but i do live in an apartment, so i can't really handle having everyone here for meals , also about the dyno, my friends 300Z club went to a place about 2 weeks ago in vancuver, i think they got a pretty good rate (i think it was like 3 runs for like 20 bucks) i will get the name of the place and call about it if that is something people are interested in. pretty much any weekend would work for me, i just need to know a couple of weeks in advance, so i don't have something planned.

BTW, a number of people interested in the dyno would be nice when i call, so i can try to get a good rate.

I am not sure if that is the price, i though he said something like that, i will call and find the name of the shope, and the shops number and give them a call, but i don't want to call until i can get some #'s cause it will be alot easier to call and say, we will h ave 10 cars. and if i can guarentee a number of cars i am sure that our price will be lower

If I can get my 327 in the firebird by then, I too would be interested in trying it on a dyno. Vancouvers only like 60 miles away so sounds like a good place. I'm fairly new to the board so it would be nice to meet some people. Also no laughs at my crappy paint!! Rust spots add character! lol

Sine if I make it that will be the last voyage for the 350 so I'm not all that interested in the dyno.

Chevymad, don't worry about the paint job, mine's the factory waterbased clearcoat (circa 1986) that peeled like crazy. Still does in fact.

Well, a friend of mine in Portland told me to put him down for the dyno, hes got a V6 98 Ford F-150, but he likes the 3rdgens. The more the merrier I say.

So that looks like 3 so far? I know we can do better than that!

11th-13th. sounds good to me. I can get the 12th off (I'm aassuming it's a saturday). We need to get a few of the vancouver,Portland members together and try and come up with some ideas. a cruise MAY not be the best solution being it will be januarary and possibly a bit snowy and dangerous. but we'll see. hehehe
