15" to 14" temp swap.

I am going to polish my 15" rims and in the meentime I was going to put on a set of second gen 14" rims with decent tires. That way I can still drive the car while I'm doing it and getting my new tires.

My question is this, when I change I assume the suface area is gonna be diff... how bad will this effect my speedo?? if it's gonna really mess with it I'm gonna have to look at other options.

The other idea was get a set of 16" rims and polish those, and then get the new tires for those, and scrap my 15" RS rims. Let me know what you think. And hey, lets make it a poll for fun

Buy the 16s, mount the 14s, practice on the 15s, polish the 16s and mount 'em up. Sell the polished 15s for $$$.

Yokohama AVS Intermediate tires kick ***, they are about 120 per tire, and since i got them mounted, i have only gotten the back end to break out once, which was while taking a 90 degree turn at 55, the passenger side tire lifted up off the ground, and it slid until it hit the ground, stopping the slide, and throwing me into the driver side window. they are the best tires i have ever used, bar none, especially for the price. I hear Michelin Pilots have tons of stick, but they are pricey.

You have the choice of going directional or non-directional. Non-directional should be cheaper, and should probably last longer, but you'll give up some performance. Mitchellin would be my choice for non-directional. In directional you have lots of good choices, some cheaper, some expensive. I am currently using Falken F1's and they have lasted pretty good and perform decent but not spectacular. That is the problem, sticky tires wear out fast. I never got more than 15,000 out of a set of sticky Goodyears. I've also run Yokohama A008's when I used to SoloII race back around 89-91. I loved the Yokohama's. Several of my friends say the the Firestone Firehawks are real good, and fairly inexpensive.

Well, I'm currently stripping the paint off of the rims, the owner painted them all white!!! Oh well, the set only cost me $150 US so it's all good I got the new center caps on the way also. I have been taking pictures as I go along so I'll be sure to post them once I got the rims a polished. Then again when they are actually mounted with the tires I choose Thanks for everyones input, and I think I made the right desiction, I like the 91-92 Rims, and I'm sure they'll look great.
