The CC board is dead.

I don't know what happened but while I was at work today the board died a horible and (I hope) violent death. I have several back ups of the database so at most we will only lose 3-5 days of posts, with any luck none at all. I will be spending tomorrow rebuilding my computers OS and will only be installing one OS this time (Win2k). That will take care of 99% of the problems we've experienced in the past and should eliminate the downtime that it has been subject to.

This is a truely sad day for me as I feel that I have let you guys (and girls) down but I will have the site back up tomorrow and the boards will be up shortly after that. Thank you for your patience.

Thats cool. I know you have been working real hard on it. I don't think you have let anyone down. We all appreciate what you have been doing.

lol, No we don't need donations. The idea of building a dedicated server has always been just that and the statement was made when we started that *if* people started posting a dedicated server would be built to host the site and boards. Since *some* of you have been posting regularly a server will be built but it may take time. Please be patient and you will be rewarded.

Hey I sent some pics of my car to the adress on the crew site today, hope I didn't kill it. Are my pictures lost.

 

thats a bummer, but thank you soooooo much for all the hard work you put into that board for us mike, BTW middle of next week, i should have my firewall/router, and web server up and running, so if you need help with hosting some of the stuff, so you computer isn't bogged down just let me know.

 

I was able to recover everything. The crew site lives again and is even better than before. The reliability problems that plagued it before are gone and it is 99% reliable now.

All of you who haven't posted need too, lets meake this a true crew site and board!

 

Pirated software on a 286 doesn’t do it for me, sorry. Because I have no sense of humor and haven’t seen the world behind an 18-wheeler, Ill have to bow out from this one mate.

And Don, the software isn't pirated its all free software. The site and board was designed for the whole crew, and there is a lot of work put into it by a few people including me and Mike. Be a shame to not see ALL of the crew enjoying the site and the effort put into it.

Im going to Lock this one for the same reason as I locked the post by Mike. If you guys have a problem with each other.. Keep it OFF the board, and use Private Messages, email, phones, cans tied together with string, whatever floats your boat.

Just keep the petty crap off the board.

This was a pretty postive post about the work that has went into getting our server up and running, and posts attacking each other do anything but good.

Jess and I dont ask for much, thats really all we ask. If you have a problem with it, contact one of us through email or PM.
