Anyone down to part out a 4th gen?

Saw an add in the Advertiser for a 96 Camaro with no papers for $800. I'm gonna go check it out and see whats up. Maybe sample it at DS a few times (hahaha!) and then part it out to offset the cost. I'm mainly interested in the interior, maybe the front brakes. But there are alot of other parts that are usable. Says it comes with some sort of chrome rims. I know the rearend is usable, so is the gas tank. Rear suspension is the same. Maybe I'll get lucky and its a LT1 w/ T56 (lol yeah right). Anyone lookn for 4th gen stuff?

Ooooo I like the T/A interior so much better than the Camaro interiors. Are you gonna part that one out Rob? If so I might pass on this Camaro.

No papers - is there any way in Hell to get that fixed? Becasue it would be nice to find a good steal like that and get it legalized.

Get the vehicle with a bill of sale for XXXX year vehicle "parts" then when it's ready for the road, have it registered as a rebuilt vehicle. Prior to doing so, check the VIN to make sure it's not on a stolen list. A VIN check might also show who was the last registered owner.

Depending on its condition, 800 might be more than its worth. That is, assuming it's a neglected v6/700r. You never know though.

unfortunately, Hawaii is a title holding state... you need bill of sale from the last registered owner (unless the vehicle was considered abandoned, then you need documentation from the agency selling the vehicle) or the title.

You could also use a tow lien (if you have those kind of connections) to generate title for the vehicle...

Mechanics leins now require a signed Work order by the last registered owner of the vehicle for them to be valid.

Sweet!! I'm gonna pass on that Camaro then. I'm looking to do the full 4th gen retrofit. I'd be interested in the entire dash, guages, center console, door panels, front and rear seats, and as much of the interior wiring harness that you're willing to part with. Lemme know is this is alright. Hey I might also wanna grab that other fender from the 89 RS (if you still got it). Thanks Rob!!!

No problem Anthony... I noticed a hairline crack on the dash in the place you said yours was cracked.... (I think a dab of superglue would keep it from spreading)

BTW... there just happens to be a wrecked HPD pursuit camaro sitting in the back lot of the wahiawa police station...

Hey Rob, I think the 93-95 LT1's use OBD1 ECM's. If so, we can use my tuning stuff to make you a chip for your swap. Well, I gotta get/make the ALDL cable first, but as soon as I get one we can do it. Only thing is, you gotta buy the definition tuning file for your model ECM, its $20 from the Tunercat website. Lemme know what the P/N for your ECM is when you get the car. Shooots

Let us know when you get it, Rob. There's a couple things I'd take from it also.

Hmm, go get that camaro too....

Speaking of Pursuit Camaro's, I saw around eight of htem at one time, on the Ewa Beach off-ramp off of H-1, Friday night. I was like, huh? There was also a couple of patrol cars and an SUV with the light bar. And a dozen cops, milling around. I only saw one other car, some beater. I've never seen so many black fourth-gen Camaro's (all of them were Z-28's, too) in one place before.

I will probably pick it up after Christmas... since I lack storage space right now...

Ian... does the guy that bought your beater still need the rear glass?

Everyone else... sit tight... I'll get the car ASAP...

The only xtra pumps I have are for L03's and V6's, prolly not enough PSI to power a LT1. I say bust it out at the Drift Session Rob!!! hehehehe

fuel pump was entirely different from what I recall...

larger body that previous generation pumps...

Drift session sounds fun... the car has the power to make drifting fun...

Once you start taking it apart, I'll take the driveshaft. The LT1 style are the same as 1LE's correct?

I know the f body driveshaft will be too short for the G body (I think...) and as long as I dont need it, it's yours...
