Just wanted to let everyone know that the RS is gonna be put into storage for awhile. We just can't afford to keep it on the road right now & we've got other priorities to handle at the moment.

Rest assured that I'll still be active here & help out or attend any get togethers that we try to arrange.

We will be back soon & we'll be back strong!!! You can all count on that

Are you gonna turn in the plates?

Is it a long-term entombment, or just a working storage to do the engine swap.

Yup, the plates are going in this week. It might be a long term thing but I'm not fully sure yet. I'm gonna play it by ear.

Damn did anyone know that if you don't put your plates in storage and the insurance expires. Even if your car sits in your garage and never gets driven. When you try to get new insurance the price will go up because it's considered "driving without insurance" becuase you didn't turn in your plates O_o Good thing I put mine in like two years ago...damn I need to get my car back on the road.

I had a Chevy van that sat unused for about six years, the plates were never turned in and the insurance was cancelled. When I went to get new registration, the DMV gave me a bill for six years of back-registration and wouldn't let me register it in my name until the bill was paid. So I made a bill of sale as a "parts car" for $1 and sold it to my wife, went to DMV and registered it as a repaired vehicle in her name, no late registration fees.

Main thing is to send the insurance company a notice that the car will be placed in storage and not driven or licensed on public roads.
